RESPONSIBILITIES: SPECT MPI Responsibilities (Primary): Perform high-quality Cardiac SPECT MPI imaging following departmental protocols. Explain SPECT procedures and stress testing to patients and ensure proper preparation. Document procedures and patient records accurately in the EPIC EMR. Maintain radiation safety and administer emergency protocols when needed. Collaborate with providers, APPs, and team members to ensure smooth workflow. PET/CT Responsibilities (Cross-Trained Coverage): Explain PET procedures and stress testing to patients and ensure proper preparation. Monitor stress response during pharmacologic testing. Document studies accurately in EPIC EMRand PACS. Assist with glucose monitoring and patient preparation as needed. Follow PET/CT safety protocols, including aminophylline administration when applicable. Actively participate in workflow coverage and readiness. The Echocardiographer is responsible to perform the functions of the CPL Tech I and Tech II technician. Responsible for providing services to newborns through geriatrics. Assumes responsibility for policy/procedure, performance improvement activities and collaborative committee participation. Acts as a clinical preceptor for all levels. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Successful completion of an ultrasound or cardiovascular technology program which includes didactic and supervised clinical experience in echocardiography. Experience: Recent training or training and experience in echocardiography. Preference may also be given to candidates who have documented previous experience in similar duties. Correlates invasive and noninvasive diagnostic tests with cardiac anatomy and function. Establishes priorities, work routines and workflow patterns to assure prompt and efficient delivery of service. Completes all appropriate measurements and calculations (2-D and Doppler) to provide available anatomic and hemodynamic information. . Assists in training/mentoring co-workers with lesser degree of skill/expertise in cardiac diagnostic procedures.
