Provides comprehensive Medical Nutrition Therapy to inpatients with a variety of medical conditions. This includes but is not limited to performing malnutrition assessments nutrition focused physical exams diet educations and providing nutrition support recommendations. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Consults with and/or makes recommendations to physicians and other allied health professionals regarding patients' nutritional statuses nutrient needs or specific diet plans.
Formulates nutrition assessment evaluation and follow-up plans for patients at nutrition risk as ordered by providers or according to departmental policy. Recommends and documents patient's nutrition treatment findings and plan in the patients' medical record.
Participates in clinical rounds and appropriate department/service meetings and communicates appropriate information to administrative personnel in the service area.
Consults in/outpatients in diet rationale for self-management.
Must be flexible to cross-cover and train in all areas including Neonatal ICU and Pediatrics as needed.
Provides staff relief and cross-coverage as delegated for in/outpatient services.
Reviews at least one annual review of literature pertinent to area(s) of responsibility and present to peers in Journal Club.
Performs at least one formal professional presentation in an area of specialty to allied health professionals or the community.
Attends pertinent meetings to enhance clinical practice to growth records and documents in CDR Professional Development Plan.
Maintains current CDR credentials and DC Licensure and completes yearly competencies as outlined by MGUH.
Hold current membership to professional organization pertinent to the role.
Participates in licensing surveys as needed.

Minimal Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree B.S with a major in Food & Nutrition Science from an accredited college or university and the completion of an accredited dietetic internship (RDE will be considered) required and
Master's degree Master's degree from an accredited college or university if completed after Jan 1 2024. required
Experience
1-2 years One year of general clinical nutrition experience preferred (RDE will be considered). preferred
Licenses and Certifications
REG DIET - Dietitian - Registered Commission on Dietetics Registration within 90 Days required

Provides direction and supervision to Dietary Aide.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced degree from an accredited college with major studies in food and nutrition or dietetics required. Licensed in the state as a Dietitian. RegisteredDietitian Certification required.
Minimum of one year of experience working with a frail or elderly population required.
Must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before having direct participant contact.
Must have a valid driver's license and have means of transportation.
Must be able to clear Background Check and Drug Screen.
Skills and Knowledge:

Monitors monthly weights, medical diagnosis, drug nutrient interactions, changes in chewing, swallowing, mood changes hydration status, intake, skin breakdown, reports changes to the Interdisciplinary Team and makes recommendations for changes to appropriate staff.
Documents nutrition notes and all other pertinent activities in the participations' medical record according to Senior CommUnity Care standards.
Provides nutritional counseling and education for Senior CommUnity Care program participants and or caregivers using appropriate materials.
Provides nutritional educational programs to own department or other departments/Senior CommUnity Care staff.
Assists in monitoring meals, including intake, diet compliance and tray accuracy.
Oversees and manages dining program.
Maintains operational food inventory and emergency dietary supply inventory according to regulations. Including ordering, shopping, and errands associated with dietary operations.
Oversees special event planning as necessary, including ordering, setup, break down and cleaning.
Develops and implements the nutritional components of participant's plan of care including active participation and development of therapeutic dining programs.
Maintains supplement/snack/bag lunch lists and dietary census for Senior CommUnity Care participants.
Directs, supervises, performs initial and annual competencies on, and evaluates the performance of the Dietary Aide.
Ensures that the job responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of direct reports are defined and understood.
Oversees maintenance/cleanliness and orderliness of serving kitchen. Monitors portion control; appropriate serving of food; adherence to therapeutic diets, purchasing and inventory of food.
Responsible for the management of therapeutic diets, including modification to meet individual participant needs, and physician orders.
Acts as liaison with contracted meal service to ensure meals meets the needs of the Senior CommUnity Care participants.

Protects privacy and maintains confidentiality of company procedures, results and information about employees, participants and families.

As a Long-Term Care consulting RegisteredDietitian, you improve the lives of seniors by ensuring their meals meet high nutritional standards. You work closely with the clinical team to monitor the nutritional needs of the residents. You might be providing nutrition education, working on an MDS with the team, or formulating your nutrition assessment with input from your dining manager. With a commitment to quality, you provide guidance on all dining services, including meal rounds and sanitation best practices as well as ensuring regulatory compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. You share your dietary expertise by training and providing guidance to dining managers and staff as well as assisting with policy development. Position Summary
The Major League Nutritionist will serve as the architect of the Nationals' nutritional strategy at the Major League level. Seeking a Registered Dietician to join The Residence of Kenilworth Park team and support our residents. As a member of our Dietary Team, the Dietician provides caring and compassionate services to our residents through nutrition education and assessment of individual nutritional needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform nutrition assessments, annual and quarterly reviews, interim assessments for residents with compromised nutritional status.
Participate in care plan development, meal observation, and resident/family, visitation.
Provide nutrition education: Advise patients and their families on nutritional principles, dietary plans, diet modifications, and food selection and preparation. Counsel individuals and groups on basic rules of good nutrition, healthy eating habits, and nutrition monitoring to improve their quality of life.
Care Planning: Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions and current health plans to develop and implement dietary-care plans and provide nutritional counseling. Consult with physicians and health care personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions of patient or client. Attend resident care planning meetings as needed; be an active member of the Interdisciplinary Team and participate in pertinent meeting as needed.
Clinical focus: Assess resident weight changes and provide a written report to Nursing Services on a monthly basis: Upon notification from the Nursing staff of weight change, the RegisteredDietitian shall assess weight change/significant weight change and implement appropriate interventions; attend weight risk meetings.
Staff Education: Conduct in-service Education for the facility staff, participate in new employee orientation.
Serve as a resource to the Foodservice Department.
· Be familiar with and follow protocols, policies and practices established by HallKeen Assisted Living, the Food Service Director, ServSafe, Board of Health and any others as applicable.
· Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

INTRODUCTION
Unity Health Care provides comprehensive health care services at the DC correctional facilities. As part of Unity's responsibilities, they are required to provide evaluation and assessment of medical diets provided by the correctional food vendor. They also have a small number of patients with specific conditions who need nutrition assessment and counseling. A part-time registered dietician nutritionist is needed to fulfill these functions for approximately 2 hours/week or 8 hours/month.
MAJOR DUTIES Summary of Responsibilities
1. Diet/menu evaluation
§ Evaluate all diets served at DC correctional facilities for nutritional adequacy, at least annually or whenever the menu is changed substantially.

§ Monitor the effectiveness and appropriateness of therapeutic diets served at DC correctional facilities

4. Coordination with Healthcare Team:
§ Collaborate with healthcare members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
5. Monitoring & Documentation:
§ Document nutrition education and counseling services in patients' medical records.
§ Review and interpret lab results to identify nutritional deficiencies or markers of chronic disease.
6. Research & Development:
