Service Delivery Requirements

Clinical Collaboration

Diet Planning & Implementation
Develop individualized dietary interventions and strategies.

Staff Training & Food Service Coordination
Instruct institutional food service employees on therapeutic diet preparation and distribution.
Provide alternative food options and substitutions where necessary.
Participate in the training and education of staff, patients, and others on nutritional topics.
Administrative & Compliance Duties
Participate in institutional committees focused on nutrition, food service, bioethics, performance improvement, and quality assurance.
Ensure compliance with California Code of Regulations, Title 22 dietary service standards for SNFs, CTCs, and licensed hospitals.
Monitor dietary programs in inpatient settings and ensure menus are updated and compliant.

Preferred Qualifications
* Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in nutrition or dietetics (a master's degree is required for all RDs with registration obtained after 1/1/2024). Minimum of one year of experience in clinical nutrition as a RD, specifically working with patients in higher education or community. Current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registry (CDR), and in good standing. Knowledge of clinical competencies based on Nutrition Care Standards of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND). Strong communication and interpersonal skills required. Proficiency with medical technology, and EMR.
* An American Public Health Association (ACHA) approved master's degree.
* Experience developing, implementing, and coordinating nutrition education or healthy eating programs for individuals, small and large groups.
