What You'll Do:
Conduct nutritional screening and assessment for patients/clients to include anthropometric and laboratory data, collection of nutrition history, calculation of nutrition adequacy, and identification of drug-nutrient interactions.
Utilize motivational interviewing to identify desired goals and outcomes of nutrition care in collaboration with the patient/client and health care professionals. Considers the variables that may influence the patient/client's food-related behaviors, including culture and social determinants of health.
Evaluate and provide evidence-based nutrition recommendations to address patient/client medical needs. Understand and evaluate patient/client nutrition status and its relationship to complex disease states, including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, chronic kidney disease, gastrointestinal disorders, cancer, food allergies, and obesity.
Collaborate with physicians and other health care professionals to advocate for and implement optimal nutrition care.
Provide preventative services and counseling at individual patient/client visits and group meetings.
Serve as preceptor providing nutrition education and guidance to dietetic interns and students. Develops training materials and participates in mentoring of staff.
Assist in monitoring compliance to Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic (YVFWC) procedures, federal qualified health center quality metrics and/or state and federal WIC requirements.
Maintain awareness of community demographics and resources. Connects clients to resources.
Design and implements outreach activities to raise community awareness of program services.
Complete documentation in the appropriate electronic medical record to document patient/client interaction.
Actively participates in assigned meetings to promote care team collaboration and ongoing learning.
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Master's Degree in Dietetics from a U.S. regionally accredited college, university, or foreign equivalent for new graduates after January 2024. Dietitians credentialed prior to Jan 2024 are allowed to be grandfathered in with a Bachelor's Degree. A Master's Degree in Dietetics serves as two years of experience for job offer purposes.
Completion of ACEND (Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics) accredited academic coursework in a Didactic Program in Dietetics
RegisteredDietitian or registration eligible (must obtain RD credential within 180 days of employment).
May require the following certifications based on location and job duties performed.
Certified Dietitian (if going to bill for Maternity Support Services [MSS]).
Licensed Dietitian (if going to bill for Medical Countermeasures ([MCM]).
International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A REGISTEREDDIETITIAN (RD)
As a Long-Term Care consulting RegisteredDietitian, you improve the lives of seniors by ensuring their meals meet high nutritional standards. You work closely with the clinical team to monitor the nutritional needs of the residents. You might be providing nutrition education, working on an MDS with the team, or formulating your nutrition assessment with input from your dining manager. With a commitment to quality, you provide guidance on all dining services, including meal rounds and sanitation best practices as well as ensuring regulatory compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. You share your dietary expertise by training and providing guidance to dining managers and staff as well as assisting with policy development. QUALIFICATIONS

What You'll Do:

Requirements
Must have an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Dietetics
Must have successfully completed CMS's Long-Term Care Basic Training and passed the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT).
Must have at least two (2) years of recent experience working as a surveyor accrediting or certifying facilities that serve the residents of long-term care facilities.
Must maintain current licensure to practice as a RegisteredDietitian
Demonstrated history of independent decision-making skills to direct and effectively manage the survey process.
Ability to set priorities independently and collectively in performing survey tasks.
Ability to openly discuss conflicts/controversy, and to seek assistance when appropriate to make decisions and resolve conflicts.
U.S. Citizenship is required for this position
Ability to travel up to 75% of the time on a regular basis is required.

Opal: Food+Body Wisdom is a local, female owned and clinician-led eating disorder treatment facility in the University District of Seattle, Washington that offers Partial Hospitalization Program, Intensive Outpatient Program and very limited outpatient services. Radically Open Dialectical Therapy, Exercise+Sport programming and clinic wide weight-inclusive practices are infused throughout our treatment. With Opal's founders and clinical leadership team being experienced clinicians and closely involved in the day to day treatment, staff are able to learn from experienced clinicians and see the integration of these unique treatment offerings in a higher level of care setting.
What can you expect with our RO DBT treatment?
RO DBT is the foundational treatment approach offered to our clients, as evidenced by specialized groups created and led by Dr. Lexi Giblin, who is intensively trained in RO DBT and an RO DBT Alumni Senior Clinician. RO DBT skills classes, meal support approach, self-inquiry group, and more offer clients a wrap around RO DBT treatment experience. Opal staff have the regular opportunity to learn about RO DBT through our internal training program called The School of RO and apply their knowledge by co-leading groups and supporting clients through an RO DBT lens.
What can you expect with our Exercise+Sport approach?
We offer regular and robust programming for ALL of our clients to explore their relationship with exercise, sport and movement. We offer individual exercise experientials for all of our clients as well as specific groups to address relationship with movement. Staff interested and trained to be part of this programming is supervised by co-founder Kara Bazzi who has 20 years of experience and expertise in integrating relationship with movement into eating disorder care.

Job Title: RegisteredDietitian Nutritionist
Responsibilities:
Be a part of our four person nutrition team.
Provide 1:1 nutrition counseling for clients at all levels of care--- which includes on-going assessment, treatment planning, meal/menu planning, nutrition education, counseling, food experientials (ex. grocery shopping, meal outings), etc.
Co-lead PHP/IOP client meals with mental health co-workers.
Co-lead nutrition oriented groups (ie, Nutrition Class and Deconstructing Diet Culture Class. )
Document all clinically relevant interactions with clients using electronic health record system.
Check and record client vitals.
May include being a part of a multi-disciplinary Exercise+Sport team which could have job responsibilities of leading a Movement and Sports Nutrition Class, speaking on sports nutrition in the community, and offering sports nutrition counseling for athlete clients struggling with eating disorders in our PHP/IOP
May include coverage for Nutrition team member, helping out with menu planning, food ordering, catering/cook coordination, and kitchen management/food organization.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by manager.
Education/Credential Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Dietetics program with completion of internship/practice experience.
RegisteredDietitian Nutritionist (RDN); Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
Certified Dietitian (CD) with the Washington State Department of Health.
Skill Requirements:
Approachable and compassionate, with an emotional awareness of client's needs and one's relationship with the client.
A high degree of confidentiality and personal boundary setting; coupled well with value of modeling for clients.
Adaptable, organized personality and skill set.
High value of collaboration with multi-disciplinary treatment team.
Experience working with eating disorders/offering 1:1 nutrition counseling, highly desirable.
Live, behave and talk in a way that reflects a non-diet, weight-inclusive relationship with food and body.
Hours: About 10-20 hours weekly. Working hours would be Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Exact hours determined at hire but all would occur between 7:30am and 5:00pm on weekdays. Certain hours may be required according to specific job duties.
Compensation: Salary will be commensurate with experience and market rate. Food will be provided for meals leading with PHP/IOP clients. 1:1 nutrition supervision by an RDN. Staff trainings weekly on variety of topics. Group staff consultation and supervision weekly. Health insurance provided with premium health insurance company. Simple IRA with employer matching. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A REGISTEREDDIETITIAN (RD)
As a Long-Term Care consulting RegisteredDietitian, you improve the lives of seniors by ensuring their meals meet high nutritional standards. You work closely with the clinical team to monitor the nutritional needs of the residents. You might be providing nutrition education, working on an MDS with the team, or formulating your nutrition assessment with input from your dining manager. With a commitment to quality, you provide guidance on all dining services, including meal rounds and sanitation best practices as well as ensuring regulatory compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. You share your dietary expertise by training and providing guidance to dining managers and staff as well as assisting with policy development. It is also your responsibility to monitor the implementation of effective nutritional care systems. You feel great knowing that your work makes a difference in the lives of the seniors you serve!
QUALIFICATIONS
Commission on dietetic registration (CDR) credentials
Licensed (if required by State)
