Dietitian
The Temecula Valley Hospital Dietitian is responsible for the initial nutrition appropriate to the patient's clinical presentation/diagnosis, nutritional needs, age, developmental level, cultural and religious orientation. Develops a nutritional care plan that is individualized for each patient based on the assessment, including input from the patient, family members and multidisciplinary team. Makes appropriate recommendations to physician for nutrition care plan and/or needs
Essential Job Duties:
Identifies and prioritizes the need for further assessment and monitoring of nutritional needs.
Identifies nutritional risks, performs age-specific comprehensive nutritional assessment upon initiation of nutrition support according to hospital policy and guidelines.
Verifies written diet order and appropriateness of diet prescribed by the physician upon assessment of the patient.
Requirements:
Completion of all academic and supervised practice requirements as set forth by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and Commission on Dietetic Registration with a minimum of a Master's degree in food and/or nutrition related field granted by a USDE accredited institution or foreign equivalent.
Individuals who established eligibility for the registration examination for dietitians on or before December 31, 2023 or those who are already registered will not be required by CDR to obtain a graduate degree. Individuals eligible before the graduate degree requirement takes effect will not be required to take the examination before January 1, 2024.
Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration as a dietitian (RD) or dietitian nutritionist (RDN), and any certifications as may be required by the state

Introduction The Registered Dietitian will take an active role in the development of a new, exciting, and specialized program for children with developmental disabilities and the employees who care for them.
Role
The role of the Registered Dietitian is to evaluate each resident's nutritional status and needs, and to provide recommendations and plans to individual behavior support team that will support the individual's health and well-being living in an enhanced behavior supports home. The Dietitian also provides nutritional, food preparation and sanitation training to staff along with management of the child nutrition program.
Responsibilities
· Assessment of each individual's nutritional needs within the consultant's area of expertise.
· Participation in the transdisciplinary Individual Behavior Support Team's (IBST) development of an Individual Behavior Support Plan (IBSP) for each individual based on the assessment data.
· The development of plans for IBSP objectives that are within the domain of the consultant's discipline and expertise.
· The consultant shall request the hours deemed necessary for their area in the IBST implementation.
· Consistent monitoring and evaluation of the delivery of services in the consultant's area to ensure that the program is being implemented properly and consistently.
· In-service training to staff regarding the discipline, areas treated, program objectives, and special techniques of the area, with ongoing follow-up to ensure proper implementation.
· Ongoing documentation of client progress and documentation in the client record, and in the online Transdisciplinary Clinical Notes; may cross-reference to a consultation report.
· Document at least monthly progress reviews for each resident and menu reviews with residents.
· Provide information required and recommendations to the facility's program design.
· Participation in the facility's Continuous Quality Improvement System by submitting recommendations in writing.
· The consultant shall be available to meet with the IBST monthly and as necessary when scheduled and attend special incident reviews if applicable to their domain.
· The consultant shall be available for scheduled QA reviews from regional center and Department of Developmental Services semiannually.
· All client assessments, recommendations, plans, and monitoring of progress will be provided in writing to the Administrator and documented in the individual's client record.
· Other related functions within the consultant's area of expertise agreed to and requested from the Administrator or QBMP for client welfare.
Qualifications
a) Two years of experience assessing and implementing programs for individual's with developmental disabilities and mental health or behavioral challenges.
b) Registered Dietitian.
c) Maintains registration.
d) Eligible for regional center vendorization.
e) Experience working in a transdisciplinary team.
f) Experience working with state and federal child or school nutrition program.
Hours: Individually Determined. 3 hours of individualized service for each resident in 12 different homes. Hours will also be given for providing staff training and for the management of child nutrition program.

Job Description
Job Summary: This role offers a unique opportunity to support nutrition services across multiple care centers, providing both hands-on and administrative support to ensure the highest standards of patient nutrition and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and follow-ups to support patient health, including medical nutrition therapy, therapeutic diets, supplements, enteral nutrition, counseling, and education.
Provide both remote and in-person coverage across care centers for nutrition-related needs including assessments, care planning, and team-based coordination.
Ensure compliance with the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) by planning compliant menus, conducting quarterly audits, and maintaining required documentation.
Oversee meal service operations by maintaining diet records, implementing diet changes, and auditing food preparation processes for quality and accuracy.
Train and support staff through onboarding, process implementation, and ongoing competency development.
Deliver educational in-services to kitchen staff and team members to promote evidence-based nutrition care practices.
Participate in data collection, reporting, and compliance documentation to support department goals and continuous improvement.
Contribute to program planning, CQI initiatives, and interdisciplinary committees aimed at improving patient health outcomes and overall service delivery.
Collaborate with department managers, quality teams, and other organizational leaders to align nutrition care with strategic goals.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Active Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) status with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
Valid BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross).
California Food Handler or Food Protection Manager Certification from an ANSI-accredited training provider (required within 90 days of hire).
Minimum 1 year of professional work experience as an RD/RDN in clinical nutrition.
Desired Qualifications:
At least 1 year of experience working with elderly or medically complex populations.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, Mandarin, or Cantonese, depending on regional demographics.
Desired Qualifications:

Post-professional education and training in Physical Agent Modality preferred.

How you'll change lives As a Dietitian at U.S. Renal Care, you will be an integral part of an interdisciplinary team, providing excellent care for patients living with kidney disease. U.S. Renal care dietitians work under the supervision of a RDN Regional Manager.
What you'll be doing
Patient Nutrition. Using the most current, science-based practices, you will recommend therapeutic diets based on patient nutritional needs, preferences, and changes in treatment, in consultation with the patient's physician. You will review lab results and provide appropriate education for nutritional interventions on such topics as fluid and sodium, potassium, and CKD-Mineral and Bone Disorder management. You will also conduct patient assessments and care planning activities, as well as participating in monthly interdisciplinary patient care conferences.
Teamwork. You will collaborate with the Medical Director, physician/advanced practice provider, facility administrator, social worker, nurse, and patient care technician to maintain positive relationships with area hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, agencies, vendors, and the community.
Safety & Quality. You will help with clinical and operational processes, with a focus on improving patient health and achieving target goals for patient outcomes. You will also help maintain a productive quality assurance program and participate in monthly Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities.
What we're looking for
* Current Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) certification showing proof of registration with Commission on Dietetic Registration (includes Baccalaureate or Advanced degree).
* Minimum of one-year experience in clinical nutrition as a Registered Dietitian.
* Current Dietitian (LD/LDN) license in applicable state is required unless employed in the state of AZ, CA, CO, HI, IN, MI, NJ or VA. State certification (Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist) required in CT and NY. License must be maintained as current and in good standing.
* Demonstrated working knowledge of the English language and ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
* Must have basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); proficiency in all company clinical applications required within 90 days of hire.
* Must meet any practice requirement(s) for the applicable state.
