The Infusion Nurse, Independent Contractor is responsible for providing care to patients that have been assigned to and accepted by her/him including the provision of primary patient care, patient and family education, coordination with AOM Infusion's in house RN staff in the development, implementation, and revision of the patient's plan of care. . Experience At least one year of experience as a registered nurse preferably in a home infusion setting. When providing care to pediatric patients, at least one year of experience as a pediatric nurse preferably in a home infusion setting and/or the ability to become competent in pediatric practices associated with pediatric home infusion. Knowledge and experience in managing infusion access devices such as peripheral lines, PICC lines and central venous catheters including implantable ports. Operational Coordinates all patient care needs for an assigned group of patients with other members of the health care team. Maintains high standards of nursing care and implements policies and procedures as established by AOM Infusion. Coordinates nursing visits and care consistent with the physician's plan of treatment and the plan of care. Reports necessary changes to the plan of treatment and plan of care as the patient's health care needs require to the in-house RN staff. Monitors and maintains patient's supply inventory on each visit. Reports any supply needs or overstocking issues to the pharmacy department. Maintains an inventory of emergency back-up supplies that are available during patient care visits. Emergency supplies include supplies necessary to maintain infection control procedures and also to provide emergency care such as a CPR valved mask. When assigned an infusion pump, the nurse clinician will clean and test the pump as per AOM policy between each patient use and will document this procedure on the Pump Maintenance Log to be submitted monthly. Completes all required patient care documentation and submits electronically via iPad supplied by the company at the end of each patient visit and a patient signature must be obtained. Consistently adheres to universal precautions, aseptic technique and infection control guidelines and includes the need for these techniques in all patient teaching sessions. Maintains confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and AOM Infusion policy. Quality Assurance Completes all charting as per AOM documentation policy within the required timeframe. Reports after each visit and to in house RN staff or RN on call after hours for any adverse events and carefully documents any patient incidents or issues that require the writing of an Unusual Occurrence Report. If the RN has an iPad, he or she must email the report. Reports any suspected in appropriate behavior or breaches to Federal, State and Local regulatory requirement or to AOM Infusion policies and procedures to the company's Compliance Officer or Compliance Committee.

Duties and Responsibilities: · Prepares patients for surgical procedures and handles the preparation for the operating room before the surgery · Works side by side with scrub nurses and directly with the surgeon to help maintain the sterile field in the operating room · Assesses the patient's condition and address their needs before and during surgery · Works with physicians and anesthesiologists to develop a care plan for the patient during surgery · Ensures all sterile fields are not compromised during the procedure by keeping the surgical area clean and organized · Removes instruments and sponges as they are used during the procedure · Ensures patient safety during the procedure · Keeps precise documentation throughout the procedure · Dispenses supplies and medication as needed · Handles specimens and special apparatus · Adheres to all Round Rock Surgery Center policies and procedures · Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor · Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: · Knowledge and experience in PACU nursing or critical care · Knowledge and experience in ASC, operating room or ASC nursing care · Competence in assessing, treating and caring for patients based on age-specific needs · Ability to set priorities and provide direction to others that promotes efficiency on the unit · Ability to correlate clinical data with patient's medical and nursing care · Effective communication and positive interpersonal skills · Ability to maintain patient confidentiality · Ability to transcribe physicians orders accurately and read labels and instructions completely Supervision: Reports directly to the Director of Nursing and Administrator Requirements Minimum Qualifications: · Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing · Current licensure to practice in the State of Texas, successful completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support Course; ALCS required and PALS preferred · Two years' experience in perioperative nursing preferred Working Conditions: Environmental Conditions: Medical Office environment, Ambulatory Surgery Center Physical Conditions: Must be able to work as scheduled. Good visual acuity and accurate color vision. Ability to lift/transfer patients in excess of 100 pounds, which may require pushing, pulling and essentially utilizing a full range of body movement. Ability to push a gurney with a 150-pound patient on it. Ability to stand, walk, stop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl. Ability to reach, grasp, use fine finger movement and feel fine sensation to discern temperature, texture, size and shape. Ability to lift 25-pound instrument trays. Ability to push heavy equipment on wheels within the OR suite. Ability to wear lead apron. Salary Description $34-$39/ hour
