Job Summary and Qualifications
The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization's vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.
Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
Teaches patients/families/caregivers about any non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self-management.
Manages evidence-based practices and continuous process improvement initiatives to meet and exceed quality measures and enhance the exceptional care provided to patients.
Manages the quality of care by collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver a holistic patient treatment plan that promotes and supports recovery.
What qualifications you will need:
At least 1 year of Acute Care RN experience (within the last 3 years), prefers higher level acuity than Med/Surg; however, will consider strong Med/Surg candidates.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
Basic Cardiac Life Support (AHA) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required. Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation.

Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing the daily care, health needs, safety and comfort of the residents. Including providing professional assessments and documentation of the residents health and assisting with the management of the assigned nursing units staff.
RN's participate in the development and implementation of resident care plans, Maintaining up to date nursing care plans, documenting progress and making recommendations for revisions to care plans (MDS) according to facility policy and procedure
RN's make daily and periodic resident visits for monitoring and observing the residents' physical/mental condition
Perform routine nursing procedures while working closely with physicians and families to maintain the health/mental state of the resident
Provide emotional support to the resident and their families and be able to handle resident and/or visitor complaints, allegations, accidents or incidents that may occur
RN's provide medical record documentation, completing 24 hour reports, end of shift reports, shift narcotic counts and documenting the destruction of outdated/discontinued medications
Maintain up-to-date resident medical records

Qualifications
Registered Nurse (RN) Qualifications
A graduate of an accredited school of nursing and possess a valid RN License in good standing according to State and Federal requirements.
Have a thorough understanding of the principles of safe effective nursing practices within the State of Florida.
Have basic computer skills along with knowledge of such programs as Excel, Word, etc.
Personal integrity and the ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitor, government agencies and personnel.
A passion for caring for people.

The ability to be discrete and protect the integrity of confidential information and stay within Compliance and HIPAA.
