Position Overview
This RegisteredNurse role supports a Children & Youth Behavioral Health inpatient setting. The RN is responsible for providing safe, therapeutic, and comprehensive nursing care while supporting interdisciplinary treatment goals and supervising support staff on the unit.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the safety and well-being of each child on the unit
Monitor and assess patient symptoms, behaviors, and overall condition
Supervise Mental Health Therapy Aide (MHTA) staff on the wards
Attend interdisciplinary meetings, including treatment planning, morning rounds, TPRs, and discharge planning
Review and carry out prescriber orders
Perform medication administration and provide health and medication education
Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments
Document and update patient information including vital signs, weights, and clinical notes
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Monitor unit inventory and order supplies as needed

Each appointment will last approximately 1.5 hours - 30 minutes of preparation time, 30 minutes meeting with the member, and 30 minutes completing and submitting your determination. Additional compensation is offered for longer appointments.
Schedules are arranged according to your availability; however hours are not guaranteed. You must be willing to work at least 9 hours weekly, within operation hours which run Monday - Friday 8AM - 7PM, and Saturday between 10AM-6PM. Follow-up as needed with residents re: significant changes prior to or on prior shift. Notify DON/ADON of concerns. Contact MDs when needed for change in resident's clinical status or a need for orders based on resident complaints, lab results, etc.
Review resident care plans for appropriate resident goals, problems, approaches, and revisions based on nursing needs.
Ensure that nursing documentation is complete, accurate and completed within the appropriate time frames.
Participate in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and standards of resident care.
Monitors unit staff compliance with all facility and nursing department policies and procedures.
Plan for, coordinate, and facilitate resident admissions and transfers to respective nursing units.
Attend and participate in family conferences.
Coordinate referrals for consulting services.
Collaborate with physician and Nurse Practitioner regarding resident problems, daily medication needs and monthly renewals.

Function as facility supervisor as scheduled.
