Develops, implements, and evaluates appropriate care plans for patients demonstrating and understanding of prescribed modalities available.; utilizes the team approach when accessing patient needs and developing a plan of care by conferring with patient, family, nurses, technicians, nephrologists, physicians, and dietitian when appropriate.
Assumes primary nurse responsibilities as directed.
Communicates significant information to the appropriate team member in a clear, concise, and accurate manner; acts as a liaison between the head nurse, staff, and patients; objectively assesses problems regarding staff and/or patients and effectively communicates with staff and patients regarding policies and procedures.
Documents in a clear, concise, and thorough manner; sees that all paperwork is completed properly during the shift.

Administers medications when ordered; understands and teaches principles of safe dosage in ESRD, reason for giving medication and possible side-effects; ensures that medications are given properly and as ordered.
Obtains all laboratory specimens as ordered and performs routine tests.
Demonstrates an understanding of the implications of common lab results as they apply to the ESRD patient; confers with dietitian and nephrologist about abnormal findings, when applicable.
Delegates responsibilities appropriately and follows through in seeing that all delegated responsibilities have been carried out in both routine and emergency situations.
Demonstrates the ability to assume the day-to-day functions of the Charge Nurse in his/her absence, i.e. staffing, scheduling, etc.
Understands legal consequences of nursing actions, both immediate and long-term.
Promotes the education of patients and the understanding of their disease and its treatment.

REGISTEREDNURSE POSITION SUMMARY
The RegisteredNurse (RN) delivers quality care consistent within the scope of practice as outlined by the local state nurse practice act for RegisteredNurses. The RN works in accordance with local practice acts and regulations, delegates and ensures supervision of nursing activities and functions to other competent nursing personnel appropriate to their scope of practice. REGISTEREDNURSE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Licensure as a RegisteredNurse in the state of employment.
Possesses an active CPR certification.
Remains knowledgeable about specific state laws and regulations governing practice.
Satisfactory completion of initial and annual clinical competencies to demonstrate aptitude as assigned by role.
REGISTEREDNURSE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions and side effects.
Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' condition.
Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity.
Direct or supervise less-skilled nursing or healthcare personnel or supervise a particular unit.
Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments.
Instruct individuals, families, or other groups on topics such as health education, disease prevention, and childbirth as well as develop health improvement programs.
Prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment, or supplies and ensure that stock of supplies is maintained.

Hiring requirements include attendance at new hire orientation during the first four (4) workdays, scheduled Monday-Thursday on the day shift at our Philadelphia location. Mileage reimbursement is provided.
Some of the responsibilities include the following.

Act as a liaison consulting with community agencies and families to maintain coordination of care in the treatment process.

Ensures annual review of the participants physical condition and assist access to and encourage compliance with treatment for identified physical problems.

Qualifications:
