As an ICU RN, you will deliver high-quality, compassionate care to adult patients with complex medical conditions such as trauma, cardiac events, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent procedures, pacemaker placements, stroke, vascular issues, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress. You will be responsible for titrating critical medication drips, interpreting monitors, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities: Provide advanced critical care to adult patients in a fast-paced ICU environment Titrate and manage various titratable infusions including cardiac, insulin, sedation, and other set-rate drips Monitor and interpret GE brand monitors, ensuring accurate documentation and timely responses to abnormal findings Collaborate with nurse aides and healthcare support technicians to maintain patient safety and care quality Conduct comprehensive charting in EPIC and adhere to unit protocols, including Radius rules and patient care standards Adhere to fingernail policy: no artificial nails in patient care areas; non-compliance may result in termination Maintain a high level of professionalism and safety, including verifying credentials and attending required orientation Shifts & Scheduling: 12-hour day shifts scheduled from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM and night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM Self-scheduling is enabled for core staff; travelers may be assigned shifts Minimal orientation of one shift; additional orientation is not typically available Every other weekend coverage required; minimum of two holidays during the contract period Floating to PCU or Medical-Surgical units may occur, adhering to patient ratios (1:4 or 1:5) RTO requests for up to 7 days are accommodated upfront; additional RTO will not be approved Qualifications & Requirements: Active licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice Valid BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications Driver's license required at the time of submission for verification of distance from the facility Ability to work independently and in a team, with strong critical thinking skills Experience in trauma, cardiac, or emergency/critical care settings is preferred Preferred Education & Experience: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Prior ICU experience with adult patients, specifically managing complex cases involving trauma, cardiac, or respiratory distress Demonstrated proficiency in monitor interpretation, medication titration, and emergency response protocols Why Join Us: This assignment offers a competitive weekly stipend of $1,246, with taxable pay of approximately $1,995 per week.
