INTENSIVE CARE UNIT SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 1 * On the shift assigned, performs the role of Intensive Care Unit R.N. according to the policies and procedures of Sierra View Medical Center and Critical Care Services. 2 Maintains certification by the American Heart Association in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. 3 Successfully completes a class in basic arrhythmia recognition, and maintains competency. 4 * Initiates appropriate measures to support patient survivability and maintains functionality during life-threatening events. 5 * Communicates patient needs with other care providers in an effective and timely manner. 6 Demonstrates knowledge of chain of command for effective issues resolution at SVMC. 7 * Ensures the ICU rooms are set up properly to receive the critically ill patient in an efficient manner. 8 Demonstrates ability to care for the ICU patient population by passing the annual unit-specific competencies. 9 * Is ready for shift huddle.
