Understand and uphold the role and accountability of nursing staff to achieve the highest level of nurse function, aligned with the defined organizational culture. Act as a resource for Nurse Managers, unit staff, and other departments. Represent administration in the absence of leadership, facilitating and supporting organizational changes as needed. Utilize evidence-based knowledge in decision-making processes to improve and maintain high-quality, cost-effective patient care across nursing departments. Assist in the performance evaluation process for staffing resource personnel, while also evaluating education and leadership development programs for nursing staff. Collaborate with the Admitting Department to facilitate patient placement. Assist in the utilization review process and work closely with the Nurse Manager to assess and fulfill short- and long-term staffing needs. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of healthcare services to support necessary resources and ensure the delivery of high-quality care to patients. May initiate clinical treatments based on policies and procedures. Provide nursing care that meets the physical, emotional, spiritual, and social-cultural needs of patients and families through a family-centered approach to care delivery. Facilitate conflict resolution within the Nursing Division and across other departments. Assist Public Relations in managing incidents and events.
