Summary:
The Med Surg/Tele Registered Nurse delivers comprehensive high-quality, patient-centered care in medical-surgical and telemetry units. This role involves assessing patient health conditions, monitoring cardiac telemetry data, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to manage diverse patient needs. The position requires strong clinical skills in med-surg and telemetry nursing, critical thinking abilities, excellent communication, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and professional ethics.
Essential Work Functions:
Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families, addressing concerns and ensuring understanding
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in adherence to nursing standards
Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' conditions, documenting changes and reporting concerns to the care team
Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, assist physicians during treatments, and monitor patient responses
Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients recovering from medical conditions or surgical procedures
Document comprehensive patient information, including vital signs, medications, treatments, and care outcomes, in the medical record
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, physical therapists, and social workers, to create and implement individualized care plans
Manage multiple patients efficiently, prioritizing care based on acuity and clinical needs
Ensure infection control practices are strictly followed, including hand hygiene and PPE use
Advocate for patients' needs and preferences, ensuring they are respected and integrated into the care plan
Facilitate discharge planning, coordinating with patients, families, and external resources to ensure a smooth transition from hospital to home
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards

REGISTERED NURSE POSITION SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers quality care consistent within the scope of practice as outlined by the local state nurse practice act for Registered Nurses. The RN works in accordance with local practice acts and regulations, delegates and ensures supervision of nursing activities and functions to other competent nursing personnel appropriate to their scope of practice. REGISTERED NURSE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

Ensures medical records and reports are current and complete in accordance with regulatory and corporate standards, including medication administration records and physician's orders
Maintains contact with primary care physicians and specialists, and, when directed, attends doctor visits with mentor and/or individual receiving services.
Promotes health and wellness for individuals and ensures nursing actions and steps are put in place for prevention
Administers medications according to established guidelines
Provides documentation for all medications given and reviews medication administration records for compliance
Oversees the management of high-risk medical conditions and private duty nursing services
Develops training flow charts specific to each individual receiving services, provides and documents medical skills training to clients, mentors, respite providers, staff, and where appropriate, the biological family
Presents medical skills components at Pre-service Orientation
Participates as an Individual Health Plan (IHP) or Plan of Care (POC) team member,
Evaluates the medical needs of each individual for initial IHP/POC,
Ensures IHP/POC goals and objectives are medically indicated, and
Generates ongoing health care protocols for the specific medical conditions outlined in the IHP/POC
Provides consultation and technical assistance to staff and mentors regarding home care issues along with operation of durable medical equipment.
May be required to coordinate, organize and/or assist with household activities such as light housekeeping and meal preparation; transport individuals receiving services to planned and/or necessary activities and appointments
Participates in on call system as needed
May actively participate in IDT meetings, Human Rights Committee, Health and Safety Committee and Administration meetings

Requirements:
BSN required or commitment to obtaining within three years of date of hire.
At least one year of experience in a med/surgical unit or ED required.
BLS required. ALCS strongly preferred.
Hours: The hours can be 7 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. or 11 a.m. - 11:30 p.m. This is for 36 hours per pay. This is one 12-hour shift one week and two 12-hour shifts the next week.
Hourly Pay Range: $41.28 - $66.05This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.

About the Fellowship
This is a paid fellowship track designed to prepare RNs with 1 year plus of Medical/Surgical or Step Down experience for a successful transition into the Emergency Department (ED) . The track includes:
Didactic Training
Classroom sessions led by experienced ED educators and Emergency Department ED Orientation Modules from ENA via Learning Space
Curriculum covering:
Emergency nursing principles and best practices
Management of trauma, cardiac, neurological, and pediatric emergencies
Advanced life support protocols (ACLS, PALS, TNCC)
Crisis resource management and team communication
Documentation standards in emergency care
Competency assessments to ensure clinical readiness
Hands-On Clinical Training
Rotations through high-acuity ED zones including trauma bays, fast-track, and critical care pods
Simulation-based training for emergency scenarios, rapid response, and triage decision-making
IV insertion, airway management, trauma & wound care, and emergency medication administration
Direct mentorship and preceptorship from seasoned ED nurses
Interdisciplinary collaboration with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other emergency care professionals
Upon completion, fellows will be equipped to function independently in all areas of the ED.
Note: This opportunity is only open to experienced RNs . New graduates will not be considered.

The RN Case Manager will coordinate care and drive patient progression to establish a discharge plan. The Care Management Model:
Our Care Management Triad Team Model is a collaboration between the following:

Beebe Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Per Diem Vascular Access RN (PICC) to provide specialized nursing care for patients requiring vascular access services. This role is responsible for the direct and indirect nursing care of patients needing intermediate care, including the insertion and management of peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC) and other vascular access devices. Will be required to work varied shifts including some weekend and holiday requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess advanced clinical expertise in vascular access (requires PICC insertion skills), strong decision-making abilities, and the ability to direct and support team members in delivering high-quality patient care. This position requires knowledge of departmental and hospital policies related to nursing care, as well as excellent interpretive skills, interactive communication, and consultative collaboration.

Perform PICC and midline catheter insertions using ultrasound guidance following evidence-based protocols.
