Possess/maintain proper certification and skills to perform required duties within regulatory compliance and with minimal oversight. Obtain patient history, pertinent family history, and document in patient medical record. Properly apply cardiac leads and utilize 12 lead EKG machine, analyze rhythm strips and notify Physician of any abnormal results (e.g., dysrhythmias for patient situation). Be able to interpret cardiac rhythms and intervene on emergent changes. Perform post-operative recovery and discharge within established criteria, IAW department protocols. Assesses patients. Uses the nursing process as a basis for professional practice. Demonstrates proper preparation of patients for treatments and procedures, to include surgical interventions. Provides proper care and evaluation of postprocedural patients. Excellent written communication skills to perform accurate documentation, both written and electronic, of all activity in accordance with requirements. Skilled in setting up, operating and monitoring specialized medical equipment including, but not limited to IV infusion pumps, cardiac monitoring devices, EKG units, oxygen analyzers, nebulizers, and other unit specific equipment. Performs a full range of nursing procedures such as: dressing changes, catheterization, wound irrigation, intravenous fluid administration, blood transfusion, oxygen administration, vital signs, specimen collection and other unit specific procedures as prescribed by the provider. Qualifications Qualifications Degree/Education: Associates Degree of Nursing Certifications: Shall possess and provide proof of, and maintain certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Experience: Have a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a clinical nurse in an inpatient care setting in the last 5 years, PACU, ICU and/or emergency room preferred. Licensure/Registration: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
