Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Hospice RN for a 6-week travel assignment in Milford, Connecticut. Required Qualifications:
One year of recent experience as an RN, including a minimum of six months in a hospice setting as an RN
Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
BLS certification (AHA/ARC)

Summary:
A Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) provides compassionate end-of-life care to patients in their homes or hospice settings, focusing on comfort, pain management, and emotional support. Hospice RNs assess patient needs, coordinate care plans, and educate families to ensure patients experience dignity and peace in their final stages. They collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide holistic care while upholding hospice philosophy and regulatory standards.
Essential Work Functions:
Assess patient needs and develop individualized hospice care plans in collaboration with physicians and care teams
Administer pain management interventions, medications, and treatments to ensure patient comfort
Educate and support families and caregivers, helping them understand symptom management and end-of-life care
Monitor changes in patient condition, adjusting interventions to maintain quality of life
Coordinate care with hospice physicians, social workers, chaplains, and other team members to provide holistic support
Document all care provided, symptom changes, and family interactions accurately and in compliance with hospice regulations
Ensure adherence to hospice best practices, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements
Offer emotional and psychological support to both patients and their loved ones during the end-of-life journey
Communicate regularly with the hospice care team to ensure continuous, compassionate care
Complete charting and documentation requirements while meeting visit and productivity goals
Adhere to infection control, safety, and healthcare regulations
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
Required Essential Skills:

The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
Physical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
Interpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
Technical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail

The LPN Medication Care Manager is responsible for providing the highest degree of quality care and services by administering medication and treatments in a safe organized manner. Responsibilities include but are not limited to administration of medications, documentation of medication administration, conducting SHUs, and providing resident care while demonstrating the Mission for Sunrise Senior Living, "to champion the quality of life for all seniors" in accordance with federal, state/provincial, and local laws, standards and regulations and Sunrise Senior Living policies to promote the highest degree of quality care and services to our residents.
RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS
Essential Duties

Medication Administration
Provide the highest degree of quality care and services by administering medication and treatments in a safe organized manner.
Review, read, notate, and initial the electronic health record to document and learn about pertinent information about residents.
Receive medication updates from Resident Care Director (RCD) or Wellness Nurse.
Administer, assist with, and observe medications and treatments for each resident using the medication administration record and the Six Rights of Medication Pass ("Right" resident, medication, dosage, time, route, right to refuse).
Ensure that medications are passed according to times utilizing a mobile medication cart.
Document and initial as medications are given and ensure that appropriate documentation is completed for refusal or missed doses.
Maintain confidentiality of all resident information including resident medication among other residents.
Report all resident concerns and unavailable medication while administering the medication to the RCD or Wellness Nurse.
Restock medication cart after all medication passes.
Assist in checking medication regardless of packaging system.
Assess the residents to determine need for "as needed medication" and appropriately document and report to supervisor.
Count all narcotics with another Medication Care Manager (MCM) or Lead Care Manager (LCM) each shift and report discrepancies to the RCD or Wellness Nurse.
Maintain and clean the Medication Room, medication carts, and treatment carts for neatness, cleanliness, availability of medications, and expired medications.
Follow re-fill process for medications.
Help residents maintain independence and promote dignity and physical safety of each resident adhering to the Sunrise Principles of Service.
Strive to understand and respond to each resident with empathy, always remaining mindful of the resident's unique communication patterns, history, and basic human needs.
Practice routinely good standard care precautions of cleanliness, hygiene, and health.
Audit medication carts.
Resident Care
Notify RCD of any resident and/or family concerns.
Attend and actively participates in daily Cross Over meetings facilitated by the LCM.
Conduct Service and Health Updates as directed by RCD.
Participate in the development of the Individualized Service Plans (ISP).
Transcribe orders.
Risk Management and General Safety
Partner with community team to ensure community is in compliance with national/provincial regulations pertaining to occupational health and safety requirements, promoting Risk Management programs and policies, and adhering to safety rules and regulations.
Practice safety procedures at all times including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and Lockout Tagout procedures.
Report all accidents/incidents immediately.
Report all unsafe and hazardous conditions/equipment immediately.
Ensure any cords, carts, equipment, and other hazards are always kept out of the way, not blocking exits, and in compliance with fire codes.
Comply with all infection control techniques, placement of bio-hazard containers, removal techniques, procedures, and policies.
Understand and practice the proper method of attending to and disposing of, and the possibility of exposure to, blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids, infectious waste, sharp sticks, and hazardous materials.
Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, sharp sticks and hazardous chemicals immediately.
Ensure oxygen tanks are stored safely, exchange guest/resident's tanks when empty, and monitor to make sure liters of oxygen are at prescribed levels.
Training and Contributing to Team Success
Participate as a member of a team and commit to working toward team goals.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Nurse Corps Officers may serve at any one of more than 250 Navy and medical facilities around the globe, from Hawaii to Japan, Germany to Guam and Washington, D.C., to Washington state. In this role, you will be working on a 17 bed acute psychiatric eating disorder unit, help individuals with eating disorders work toward recovery in a comfortable and supportive environment. This is a mixed gender unit with serving adolescents and adults. The unit features the expertise of faculty members of the two world-renowned academic medical centers and teaching institutions. Patients benefit from the most recent clinical research findings and advances in the treatment of eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia nervosa. The goal is to help patients achieve and maintain healthy eating habits and a healthy weight.
You'll have the opportunity to work & gain experience in Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT).
This is a 40 hrs. full time (3x12-hours and additional 8 hours bi-weekly (11am - 11pm) evenings position, including weekend (Sat + Sun) coverage at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital / Westchester Behavioral Health.

Schedule: 5 × 8-hour shifts
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift Times: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM with approximately 30% of shifts from 1:00 PM - 11:30 PM based on department needs
Weekends: Occasional weekend work required
On Call: Required
Call Requirements
6 weekday call shifts and 6 weekend call shifts within a 6-week schedule period
Requirements
License: Active, clear RN license required
Certifications: BLS required
Experience:
General Surgery
Robotics (DaVinci and Mako Ortho)
Orthopedics (total knee replacements; total hip replacements-anterior and posterior approach)
Urology
ENT
Neuro (including cervical fusion and lumbar laminectomy)
Plastics (including abdominoplasty and breast augmentation)
Gynecology
Previous travel experience preferred
Technology
Charting System: EPIC
Preferred Systems Experience: SurgiCount, TECSYS

Staff Nurse - RN - Behavioral Health Inpatient- Adolescent Unit/2N - Nights
In this role you will be working in an 18-bed general acute psychiatric inpatient unit, serving adolescents between the ages 12 to 17 years old with various types of psychiatric, behavioral and adjustment problems that affect their family, community and school life. Our purpose is to provide a safe and therapeutic environment for adolescents to work on psychiatric, behavioral and adjustment issues. Our duty is to help patients effectively communicate their issues and concerns in a socially acceptable and productive way. Services include structured therapeutic milieu, medication management, family and group therapy, on unit classroom and community-based resource support.
This is a full-time (40hrs) night shift (3/12 hrs and an additional 8hrs (biweekly), including rotating weekend (Saturday & Sunday) coverage at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital / Westchester Behavioral Health Center
Preferred Criteria
At least one year of RN experience and/or capstone or a senior clinical rotation with a preceptor
Nursing Certification/s
Required Criteria
Bachelor's degree in nursing
Current New York State RN license
BCLS certification
Knowledge of nursing process: social, behavioral, biological and physical science
Knowledge of current health care environment
Knowledge of customer service principles
Knowledge of effective interpersonal communication skills
Knowledge of use of computer applications
Ability to analyze patient care data to deliver and evaluate care
