Responsible for management of the nursing services department and for the direction and supervision of all nursing service functions and activities. Responsible for the quality of resident care and ensure that sufficient and properly prepared personnel carry out functions of nursing services to provide the highest quality of care. Develops, directs the implementation, and ensures compliance of standard of nursing practice and regulatory compliance within the nursing service department.
Monitor nursing care to ensure that all nursing personnel follow established departmental policies/procedures and evidence-based practice.
Perform administrative duties such as employee performance evaluations, ensure system for ongoing competencies of nursing staff, completing reports as indicated.
Assist the Administrator with the nursing budget and provide recommendations and maintain the budget.
Determine the staffing needs and work assignments of the nursing department necessary to meet the total nursing needs of the residents.
Provide leadership training that includes the administrative and supervisory principles essential for Resident Care Managers and Charge Nurses.
Develop and maintain effective job specific orientation for nursing services and plan/facilitates in-service training for nursing service department.
Participate in state and federal surveys of the facility; assist the Administrator in reviewing deficiencies and developing plans of correction.
Collaborates with the Medical Director to assure quality of care.
Attend continuing education programs designed to keep you abreast of changes in your profession and participate in/provide leadership for in-service training for nursing
Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment.
Must possess a nursing degree from an accredited college or
Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in this BSN preferred.
Must maintain and have an active CPR/BLS during employment.
Must be able to take emergency calls after hours, up and including nights and weekends, as needed.
Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience as a supervisor in a healthcare
Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
Experience with Electronic Medical Records and computer documentation

About our Cardiovascular Labs:
Our 5 labs Incorporate Cardiac Catheterization, Interventional Radiology, Endovascular Surgery, and Electrophysiology services. We offer a full array of Diagnostic & Interventional procedures in state of the art imaging suites, including our Hybrid OR which is utilized for TAVRs, AAA repairs, Carotid interventions, and other “hybrid” type procedures. Kadlec is a nationally accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI, Washington State Designated Level 1 Comprehensive Cardiac Center, and Blue Cross Blue Shield Association “Cardiac Care Center of Excellence.” Kadlec is the only hospital in the region that can treat heart attacks by immediately opening the artery with Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) while having Open Heart Surgery backup onsite.
About this position:
This position is in our Intra-Op Cath lab space primarily caring for patients as they undergo invasive procedures. This position will work some week days in addition to every other weekend from 7:00a-5:30p. Primary responsibilities include:
Performing patient assessments and monitoring for cardiac procedures
Administering oral and intravenous medication to patients
Operating department equipment such as balloon pumps and Impella assist devices
Managing patients under sedation to watch for adverse reactions and ensure patient comfort
Educating patients and their families regarding surgical site care, lifestyle, medications and other postoperative information
Managing paperwork, including patient consent forms, charting, lab results and procedure documentation

Communicates recognition of the patients and family/significant others psychosocial, cultural and emotional needs in each nurse-patient interaction. Orients patients and family/significant others to the role of the professional nurse and other health care team members, the nursing services available, and the means of access to those services. Reinforces orientation to the Consumer Bill of Rights and Responsibilities. Identifies the patients educational needs as part of the nursing assessment. Identifies own learning needs and participates in continued education programs to meet those needs. Participates in staff orientation and student education activities. Collaborates with managers in completing the process for self and colleague/team performance reviews. Assures quality of care through development, implementation and evaluation of professional nursing standards and participation in multidisciplinary quality assurance activities. Participates in professional activities. Participates in nursing research and incorporates research findings into nursing practice. Adheres to KFHPW personnel policies and maintains a high standard of professional work habits. Consistently demonstrates an appearance consistent with current KFHPW dress code policy.

Primary nursing or case-management experience.
Bachelor of science in Nursing (BSN).
