Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
Current BLS (AHA/ ARC) Certification
Current ACLS Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
PALS or ENPC Certifications

Summary:
The Travel Cath Lab RN provides specialized care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and interventional treatments. The RN prepares patients for procedures, assists during interventions, and monitors immediate post-procedure recovery. Working closely with cardiologists and cath lab teams, this role requires advanced cardiac care skills, cardiac catheterization skills, strong communication, and the ability to adapt quickly while maintaining strict safety and regulatory standards.
Essential Work Functions:
Conduct assessment of patients prior to procedures, including reviewing medical history and performing physical exams
Assist in positioning patients correctly for the procedure and ensure EKG electrodes and cardiac leads are properly placed
Assist physicians during procedures, including the placement of catheters, wires, balloons, stents, structural heart devices, and other cardiac interventions
Operate and monitor hemodynamic equipment, recognizing and responding to changes in cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic waveforms
Assist in arterial and/or venous sheath removal using closure devices, manual pressure, or mechanical compression, and transport patients to the appropriate recovery area
Monitor vital signs, ECG, and hemodynamic parameters during cardiac catheterization and interventional procedure
Support post-procedure care, including monitoring patient recovery and ensuring a smooth transition to the next phase of care
Maintain and troubleshoot cath lab equipment, ensuring everything is functioning properly and fully stocked for procedures
Communicate effectively with team members, patients, families, and physicians to provide seamless care
Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice

Care Coordination
* Coordinate end-to-end case management from condition identification to medical readiness or administrative separation.
* Obtain Release of Information (ROI) from Service Members.
* Monitor and document appointment attendance, follow-up care, and lab result reviews.
* Educate Service Members on available medical/dental resources, TRICARE benefits, and VA eligibility.
Profile and Documentation Management
* Build initial temporary profile shells based on civilian provider documentation in E-PROFILE within 5 business days.
* Compose Narrative Summaries (NARSUMs) within 10 days of profile determination (IAW AR 25-50).
* Transpose treatment plans into various packet types (ADOP, INCAP, Convalescent leave, Medical Board).
* Follow up with providers as needed to clarify treatment plans.
Collaboration & Compliance
* Collaborate with Medical Readiness NCOs and military providers to inform leadership of updates and case progress.
* Ensure adherence to HIPAA standards and Army policies regarding Individual Medical Readiness (IMR).
* Review and organize documentation for Disability Evaluation System medical board packets according to regulatory guidance.
Reporting & Metrics

Directs a staff of Corrections Nurse Technicians, Registered Nurses, and support services in coordination with the physician, dentist, psychologist, and security staff to ensure that offenders are provided appropriate medical care.
Serves as relief for the Health Authority for the site.
Provides skilled nursing care to offenders.
Assesses offenders' health problems and needs, prepares and administers prescribed medications, initiates emergency interventions, first aid measures, and assists physician.
Develops and implements medical\/nursing guidelines and maintains medical records.
Provides training as necessary to staff and education to offenders about healthy lifestyles.
Triages sick call request and ensures all offenders are seen within 72 hours of receipt.
Provide total health care to offenders (routine, chronic and emergency care), maintaining continuity of care from admission to discharge.
Safe medication administration following policy.
Provide employee health services in accordance with policy.
ACA standards of care, Health Services guidelines and policies, Operational policies and procedures are followed.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Must possess and maintain valid unrestricted Virginia RN license issued by the board of nursing (if you are a recent graduate of a nursing program in VA and not yet licensed, NCLEX\-RN exam must be scheduled at time of application).
Well\-rounded in general nursing education.
Possess critical thinking and judgment skills.
Ability to perform full physical assessments.
Working knowledge of withdrawal symptoms and medication\-assisted treatment.
Working knowledge of medication management and pharmacological knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of principles and practices of professional nursing.
Prefer experience working in a Corrections or Law enforcement environment.
Prefer supervisory experience.
Prefer experience working with mental health patients.
Prefer Registered Nurses who have a current AHA BLS\/CPR certification.

The RN will be responsible for providing telephone and in-person advice and education to patients. Conduct in-home infusion therapy visits with patients according to the plan of care.
Prepare clinical/nursing notes and document patient interventions in both clinical and non-clinical records consistently.
Act as a clinical resource, working collaboratively with other pharmacy departments.
Maintain knowledge of drug side effects and interactions.
Offer telephone and in-person patient education on therapy protocols, drug side effects, and home infusion procedures.
Ensure patients understand their therapy plans, medications, and the importance of adherence.
During initial and ongoing consultations, serve as a patient liaison between the patient, their family, and the pharmacy to ensure a seamless therapy process.
Perform comprehensive, initial, and periodic head-to-toe assessments for patients and initiate preventative and rehabilitative care.
Use health assessment data, and input from the agency team, the physician, the patient, and the family to determine patient needs.
Manage patient and family expectations regarding services, outcomes, and discharge goals.
Establish primary and secondary diagnoses based on patient assessment and home health care focus.
Develop care plans with skilled interventions, medical supplies, and necessary services to meet goals.
Regularly evaluate patient progress, in collaboration with team members, and revise care plans as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a current RN state license.
5+ years of experience in home infusion and infusion centers.
3+ Experience with IV Immunoglobulins and IV Biologics. CRNI certification(Certified Registered Nurse Infusion) is preferred.
Experience with peripheral IV starts, infusion therapy, and phlebotomy for both adult and pediatric patients is preferred
Effective interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Organizational ability to maintain consistently accurate records.
Ability to direct information to the appropriate healthcare provider.
Proficient in computer skills, including word processing, and efficient use of the internet and email.
Current CPR and BLS (Red Cross and AHA) certification, valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance.
