Marion Cancer Center is hiring a casual (as needed), day shift Radiation Therapist. Located on the campus of Marion General Hospital in Marion, Ohio, this is a Monday-Friday opportunity in a newer facility with state-of-the-art equipment. Each department has a dedicated Canon Large Bore CT Simulator with Respiratory Gating functionality. Treatment planning software include Eclipse, BrachyVision, Accuray Precision for CyberKnife, MIM, and Velocity. The Grove City campus is the home for the HDR program and utilizes a an Elekta Flexitron Afterloader. Mount Carmel Health System has a single ARIA Record and Verify database environment. Other equipment and procedures offered in our system include 3D, IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, HyperARC, 4DCT, DIBH, OSMS, and HDR.

What You Bring:

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Each department has a dedicated Canon Large Bore CT Simulator with Respiratory Gating functionality. Treatment planning software include Eclipse, BrachyVision, Accuray Precision for CyberKnife, MIM, and Velocity. The Grove City campus is the home for the HDR program and utilizes a an Elekta Flexitron Afterloader. Mount Carmel Health System has a single ARIA Record and Verify database environment. Other equipment and procedures offered in our system include 3D, IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, HyperARC, 4DCT, DIBH, OSMS, and HDR.
What You Will Do:
+ Responsible for the simulation, the management and treatment of Radiation Oncology patients; applying ionizing radiation as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist.
+ Ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives and exhibits professionalism.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Graduate of an approved Radiation Oncology program

Qualifications
Education:
Required: Masters degree in a mental health related field. Current unencumbered license in state of employment as LPC, LMFT, LSW, LISW, LISW-S, LPCC, LPCC-S, LMSW, or LCSW, or state equivalent license. Current CPR or CPI, which may be obtained during orientation
Maintains education and development appropriate for position.
Experience

Summary:
The Lead Radiation Therapist is the supervisor over the Radiation Therapy team at Riverside Methodist Hospital Radiation Oncology.
They are responsible for maintaining adequate staff levels and making sure all the LINAC machines are well staffed. They maintain and prepare the daily schedule and the call schedule for our team. They partner with the providers and the nursing team to deliver high quality care to our patients and are the connecting link between the Radiation Therapy team and the department manager. They are responsible for addressing the immediate concerns of the radiation therapy team and escalating them when appropriate. They maintain a high quality of care by reviewing charts and making sure all the required parameters and hard stops are in place. They participate in the Quality Review Meetings and address any quality concerns with the Radiation Therapy team. They are also involved in system meetings aimed to improve the quality of care at a system level.
When not working on administrative duties, the Lead Radiation Therapist will also be involved in treatments at the LINAC or coordinate the patient appointments at the SIM CT, depending on their rotation assignment.
Responsibilities And Duties:

With regards to the radiation therapist activities, the Lead Therapist oversees and verifies the accuracy and completeness of patient charts and department QA records, such as morning linac QA, routine imaging, and treatment documentation.

Assures appropriate supply inventories are maintained for the treatment areas.

Oversees the radiation therapist time off requests, treatment rotations, and on-call schedule ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained.

Assists the department manager with operational needs.

Evaluates the radiation therapists with regards to their technical competencies and ensures that their annual licenses and OhioHealth competencies are completed timely.

Provides input to manager for yearly staff evaluations for each radiation therapist.

Obtains budget needs for the therapy department and assists Manager with budget preparation.

Performs the duties of a Radiation Therapist Reg in conjunction to performing the administrative role of the Lead Therapist.
