We are looking for a Certified Radiographer - Mammographer to join our collaborative team at Memorial Health! What You'll Do: Performs general head, sinus, chest, abdominal, pelvic, and lumbar computed tomography procedures, as well as specialty procedures as requested; confirms images sent to Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), sends images to Vitrea as requested by Radiologist; operates power injector; assists with daily quality control procedures (i.e., imaging of phantom, checking contrast temperature and checking crash cart). If mammography certified then performs mammograms; performs and documents quality control procedures (e.g. cassette and darkroom cleanliness, processor quality control, etc.); scans images in R2 unit for CAD assistance; ensures all data has been gathered and placed for interpretation by Radiologist in a timely manner. Radiology Tech Extender PRN - (25000CI6) Description A Brief OverviewProvides support and assistance to the Radiologic Technologist in caring for patients and family members during the imaging process, completing clerical/computer duties, lifting/transporting of patients, and following hospital and departmental policies, protocols, and SOPs (including Radiation and MRI safety). Employee must be enrolled in an approved imaging program. This position qualifies for Funding Healthcare Futures program. What You Will DoAssisting the Radiologic Technologist by completing basic patient assessments including verifying patient orders, completing patient questionnaires, patient preparation and instruction. Communication with other members of the health care team to help coordinate patient care. Facilitate patient care including, lifting, transport, chaperone and monitoring of patients. Assist with Radiology computer information and data entry including PACS system. Ensures the adequate availability of procedural supplies to include ordering and stocking patient care supply item. Follows hospital initiatives in order to meet patient satisfaction goals. Follows MRI and radiation safety policies and procedures. communication with other members of health care team to help coordinate patient careregister and check in patients Additional ResponsibilitiesPerforms other duties as assigned. This position is responsible for following established procedures and protocols. Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic procedures to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injuries. The scope of the position includes explaining procedure to the patients, accurately operating all imaging equipment, demonstrating clinical and age specific competencies in performing all diagnostic procedures and selecting accurate technical factors for optimal image quality. Technologist is responsible for practicing radiation safety in the operations of radiation-emitting equipment. Technologist demonstrates the ability to review images for interpretation. Minimum Qualifications Technologist must be registered and in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) Maintains certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Essential Functions Reviews and interprets physician order for the diagnostic x-ray procedure accurately Validates all patient identification before performing any diagnostic x-ray procedure accurately Communicates with patient to obtain medical history and/or specific medical information that is pertinent to the procedure and/or patient's well being during the procedure Validates proper working conditions and technical factors of all imaging equipment and procedure room Explains procedure to patient to facilitate patient cooperation and alleviate patient anxiety; ensures patient comfort and safety Assumes responsibility for patient care during the imaging procedure to include infection control Follows procedure protocols and policies and procedures in performing diagnostic x-ray procedures Demonstrates competence in collimation, patient positioning and radiation safety to reduce radiation exposure as much as possible Practices radiation safety for patients, family, visitors and self Critiques all images for image quality for interpretation Actively participates in the Quality Assurance program(s) Consistently demonstrates the ability to recognize priorities and deals with them promptly Establishes and maintains a good rapport and cooperative working relationship with all members of the department and facility Demonstrates a willingness to learn new procedures and assist in other areas as needed Participates in standby call as needed to support the department/facility Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
