Rehab office coordinators keep the rehabilitation center together. Along with their in-house therapists and medical professionals, they develop and implement rehabilitation programs for patients with long-term, debilitating mental and physical health conditions. They are responsible for their respective rehabilitation center's day-to-day functions. These include, but are not limited to, training staff, bookkeeping, and scheduling medical check-ups and therapy sessions.
Rehab office coordinators have to demonstrate excellent clerical skills since their work typically involves sorting, accomplishing, and processing mountains of paperwork. Although, not all their duties can be done behind a desk. They have to know how to lead and work in a team. They must also take care to interact warmly yet professionally with their clients.
Most employers require their rehab office coordinators to at least have a high school diploma. It's a mostly female-dominated field with only about a fifth of rehab office coordinators in America being men.
