The Occupational Rehabilitation Specialist reports to the Director of Rehabilitation Services and will join a team of 3 OT's, 4 Physical Therapists (PT's), and 2 Speech Pathologists.

The Occupational Rehabilitation Specialist will function both independently and in a team setting in order to consistently deliver quality care to occupational therapy patients in accordance with individual patient needs, physician orders, department policies and procedures, and standards of practice. They will evaluate patients, plan and implement treatment programs, and document all treatment provided. Working in conjunction with other members of the health care team, the Occupational Therapy Specialist will ensure patient needs are always met. The Occupational Rehab Specialist will showcase their strong understanding of quality care by catering to a diverse population of patients.

A strong knowledge of occupational therapy principles and procedures combined with good communication / interpersonal skills, and great problem-solving ability will allow the Occupational Rehabilitation Specialist to implement the best methods to address patient problems.

$5,000 HIRING BONUS (Prorated by FTE)

Schedule: Full or part time. Schedule varies dependent on full or part-time hours. Hours can range from day time to early evening during weekdays. Successful applicant(s) will have the ability to work with hiring manager to develop a schedule that will accommodate their needs and program needs.

Participation in a rotating on-call schedule is required and compensated.

Overview

Do you love working with children? Come work in our new program that supports children in an office based group setting to learn new skills to help promote positive behavioral and social skills. As the child progresses, the Rehabilitation Specialist will work to help the child translate their new skills to the home or school environment. The Rehabilitation Specialist utilizes specific interventions to support, educate and teach children and their care givers and significant others the skills necessary to maximize functioning and minimize or eliminate behaviors and/or patterns of thinking which are interfering with making positive gains. This position utilizes their training (agency provided paid training available) in Applied Behavioral Analysis, positive behavior teaching, motivational interviewing, integrated health and wellness and Zones of Regulation to carryout treatment plans devised by a variety of professionals including mental health clinician, occupational therapist, behavior analyst, medical provider and speech therapist. Interventions are structured and specific and designed to promote maximum gains within identified time frames. Works as part of an interdisciplinary team including the professionals identified above and provides services in the home, school, community and other locations utilizing agency COVID-19 prevention protocols. Populations of focus include children with emotional disorders, mental illness, autism spectrum disorders and developmental delays.

Responsibilities

Actively participates in required trainings including but not limited to applied behavior analysis, positive behavior teaching, motivational interviewing, integrated health and wellness and zones of regulation. Demonstrates competency and adherence to these models of intervention consistently throughout work with clients. Implements identified interventions designed to improve behavioral, emotional, relational, social, and daily living skills. Provides support, consultation and education to parents, teachers, caregivers and others involved in the child’s life to promote universal programming across all areas of the child’s/adult’s environment (generalization), Implements treatment interventions, utilizing practices identified by the assessing practitioner and in keeping with agency supported training. Provides timely accurate documentation and completes program-specific charting, entry of outcome data, and data-tracking.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s (BA/BS) degree in a human services field OR three years of experience providing services in a similar setting with individuals who have emotional and/or mental and/or developmental disabilities, OR a combination of education and experience that provides the desired skills, knowledge, and abilities required to perform the job. Willingness to participate in all agency required and supported training and to utilize strategies and interventions as prescribed by training and assessing provider

Must be a QMHA on the Mental Health & Addictions Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO) registry.

Must pass state-required background and DMV checks; possess a valid OR driver's license and a satisfactory driving record to transport clients. Candidate must be able to work independently and flexibly, under general supervision.

• Completes Rehabilitation Assessments to identify the rehabilitative needs of participating consumers.
• Lead and coordinate Individual Rehabilitation Program team meetings with engaged stakeholders, including therapists and consumers.
• Develop Individual Rehabilitation Plans for each consumer, with domain, short and long-term goals and interventions.
• Provide orientation, supervision, and training to PRP Workers, to assure the support and goal attainment or participating consumers.
• Directly supervise staff.

A Licensed Social Worker Requires:

Master's Degree in Social Work. Must hold an active Social Worker License or Professional Counselor License in the State which position resides. Minimum of three (3) years experience working with youth in involved in mental health services. Supervisory experience preferred.
