Job DescriptionCommunicare is a community mental health center in North Central Mississippi that serves Calhoun, Lafayette, Marshall, Panola, Tate and Yalobusha counties. Communicare offers specialized treatment services for adults with serious mental illness, children with serious emotional disturbances, individuals with substance abuse disorders and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Communicare is currently seeking a
PSYCHOSOCIAL REHABILITATION PROGRAM SUPERVISOR
The position requires a Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or closely related field. Bachelor’s degree in the same fields plus experience may be substituted at the discretion of Communicare.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plan and organize the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program as mandated by the Department of Mental Health, Division of Medicaid, and Communicare standards and regulations, under the direction of the Office Supervisor and the Clinical Director of Adult Services. As directed by the Office Supervisor or Clinical Director of Adult Services, implement the required evidence-based practices that constitute the curricula for the PSR Program. Work closely with other members of the treatment team to recruit, screen, and orient new clients for the PSR program as directed by the Office Supervisor. Complete or ensure completion and submission of any required client documentation and billing information, including progress notes, prior authorization forms, attendance rosters, and other data as requested in accordance with DMH, Medicaid, and Communicare policies. Organize and arrange transportation for clients to and from the program, including working closely with the Office Supervisor to plan and modify the routes as necessary for maximum time efficiency. Drive the van as needed to transport clients. Keep needed program materials and supplies available as necessary to maintain program functioning. Provide crisis intervention and other clinical services to Communicare clients as needed and directed. Work with other Communicare staff as part of the clinical treatment team as needed to coordinate and arrange services for PSR clients as indicated on their treatment plans. Supervise other PSR staff, including the van driver and any volunteers or students who may be assigned to the program under the direction of the Office Supervisor. Work under the supervision of the county Office Supervisor and perform other duties as assigned by the Office Supervisor or the Clinical Director of Adult Services.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Pass a Communicare background check and drug screen. Communicare is a drug-free workplace. Ability to perform the responsibilities of the position as described above. Satisfactory completion of CPR. Satisfactory completion of CPI within 30 days of employment. Experience in the mental health field is preferred. Valid Misissippi driver’s license of whatever class Communicare requires, transportation with insurance, and insurable driving record to meet Communicare’s insurance company standards must be maintained continuously throughout employment. Ability to relate to Communicare clients and staff in a positive manner. Ability to accept supervision and work toward Communicare goals for the program.

+ Five years of clinical experience required including two years in a management/supervisory role preferred.
