Responsibilities:
• Solving challenging substation engineering problems.
• Working with design engineers and performing quality reviews.
• Working directly with clients as well as working with other staff in remote office locations.
• Assignments will cover the full range of project planning through design and construction support.
• Preparation of relay settings from 4.16kV through 500kV including relay set points, logic diagrams, configuration files and documentation.
Experience :
• Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with 2+ years of related experience.
• Main requirement is experience with creating relay settings and logic diagrams.
• Capable of using Aspen OneLiner and/or Electrocon CAPE for coordination studies and fault study analysis.
• Preparation of protective relay coordination studies
• Experience with development of relay settings for microprocessor relays including: SEL, Alstom, GE, ABB and others. For both transmission line relays (Line Differential, Step Distance and Pilot Schemes) and substation relays (Capacitors, Transformers and buses)
• Being familiar with Schweitzer AcSELerator QuickSet, General Electric EnerVista and Schneider Electric MiCOM software is a plus
• Strong engineering and interpersonal skills and high attention to detail with a passion for quality.
• Experience implementing control and protection schemes including interpreting schematics and wiring diagrams and preparing relay logic to complete the schemes.
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure situations
• Team player who can work effectively in team environment;

Responsibilities
This senior engineering position is within Sargent & Lundy's Electrical Analytical Division and will be responsible for the following:
+ Performing protection system calculations and analysis to support a wide variety of clients
+ Develop relay settings associated with HV/EHV Substation and Transmission Lines
+ Develop relay settings for Power Station Generators, Transformers, Motors and Medium Voltage and Low Voltage protection devices
+ Aiding clients to comply with NERC PRC standards
+ Relaying Event Report analysis
Qualifications

Essential skills and experience:
+ A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and sufficient industry experience is considered in lieu of an advanced degree
+ A minimum of 5 years relevant engineering experience with an emphasis in power system protection
+ Experience with microprocessor-based relays (SEL, Beckwith, GE, ABB, etc) and electro-mechanical relays
+ Experience with micro-processor based relay software (SEL AcSELerator, GE Enervista, etc)
+ Experience with Generator, Transformer, and Motor Protection studies
+ Experience with HV/EHV substation and Line Relaying
+ Experience with LV Breaker protection
+ Experience using protection system software such as ETAP, SKM, and Aspen
+ Experience with NERC PRC compliance evaluations
Valued but not required skills and experience:
+ Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred

We're looking for a Relay Engineer to performs electrical testing on relays in electrical power stations. As a relay engineer, your duties involve using equipment such as a Doble 6150 to test different types of microprocessor relays inside the electrical substation.
+ Perform installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance of protective relaying equipment.
+ Perform function testing of substation control circuits on relay panel, transformers & circuit breakers.
+ Develop relay macros and testing routines with confirmation of proper protection and control design.
+ Perform end-to-end relay testing using relay test software, and analyze the operation of the relay based on the fault type run.
+ Develop written standard commissioning, testing and maintenance procedures for protective relaying.
+ Examine relay settings and logic equations for confirmation of system operation in accordance with design.
+ Develop isolation restoration procedures for a construction outage.
