Responsibilities:
Provides day-to-day process monitoring, including troubleshooting of process, yield, quality and equipment reliability issues.
Develops and maintains plant material balances, capacity evaluations, and area/plant yields. Reports on critical items through KPIs.
Scale up R&D equipment and processes to improve yields and cycle time on new processes.
Engage with product marketing and manufacturing groups for process requirements.
Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure equipment can be reliable and meet quality and cost targets. This activity includes design for enhancements to existing equipment manufacturability and new product equipment.
Identifies, develops and implements process capacity and efficiency (yield) improvements, including operator tracking and downtime data and leading technical improvement teams.
Develops and maintains area process sample schedules and provides coordination with lab.
Performs execution and documentation of plant trials including detailed material balances and evaluation of in-process quality and batch record data.
Monitors equipment performance and in-use time and coordinates production issues with the appropriate personnel.
Completes investigations and Corrective Action Reports for technical processing issues.
Initiates/supports area capital projects, including scope development, cost justification, control logic and start-up support. Take part in project teams as Leader, technical expert or operational expert.
Perform as equipment and/or technology owner or expert to support operation and train operators.
Provides Process Safety Management ownership responsibilities including process hazard analysis participation, supporting upkeep of drawings, procedures, and PSI files, and sponsoring management of change for equipment and process changes.
Supports site safety and quality initiatives through participation & leadership in teams, incident/CAR analysis, and follow-up.
Ensures smooth integration of activities and effective teamwork within Site Engineering functions (between project engineering, process engineering, and process controls engineering teams).
Required Qualifications:
B.S. in Chemical Engineering/Chemistry or a related discipline
Minimum three to eight years' experience in a chemical or pharmaceutical plant environment.
Knowledge of piping and valve operations to control processes.
Familiar with and capable of generating engineering flow diagrams, process flow diagrams, and capacity analysis.
Good understanding of analytical techniques (GC) and fermentation bioprocess is desirable.
Experience in food or pharma industry desired

The Engineer will provide process improvement recommendations, project management, and technical support to designated facilities. This position will be involved in the maintaining, upgrading, management of new equipment installation, new process startups, maximizing plant efficiency, plant data collection, identifying and correcting process deficiencies, and assisting with regulatory compliance. The position is assigned capital and maintenance engineering projects, plant improvement projects, along with being directly involved in essential plant activities such as safety, pollution abatement, training and other plant programs.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following are the major duties and responsibilities of the Process Engineer - Injection Molding:

Supports the Engineering and R&D Departments to deliver the injection molding process priorities of the facility while providing technical and troubleshooting assistance on a daily basis to the molding department.
Confers with planning, corporate engineering and the design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
Estimates production times, staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
Establish work measurement programs and analyze data for the development of standards and labor utilization.
Examine specific work areas and make recommendations for improvements in throughput, inventory and operating expense.
Attend Mold Trials as primary technical support to operate equipment, debug, and optimize injection process SOP +3 months
Develop and implement training for process technicians and maintenance as needed to increase knowledge base.
Implements and installs CIM technology and machinery. Sets standards, and trains all personnel in the safe and productive operation of the CIM Machine, Ultrasonic welding, foam bead machinery and PUR Back Foaming equipment.
Salary range: Approximately $100,000 (pay will be based on education and direct knowledge and experience in role)

Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY
The Process Engineer is a key member of the engineering team, with responsibility to develop, implement, and manage the manufacturing processes, methods, and equipment designed to ensure continuous production of materials that meet or exceed our customers' expectations. The role requires a ‘hands on' individual who can balance the theoretical with the practical aspects of the job, coupled with the interpersonal skills to drive through improvements.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Spend significant time in the plant learning the metrics, the processes, and the key levers.
Establish strong working relationships with production management and equipment operators. Become the subject matter expert and a key technical resource.
Gather data from process parameters and interpret (from a statistical approach) to determine their relationships with the KPI metrics.
Conduct Root Cause Analysis exercises to identify failure points and establish corrective actions.
Establish strong working relationships with maintenance team to identify critical equipment and opportunities for improved reliability and performance.
Support the production team in establishing standard work (tooling, documentation, etc) for processes. Support the training and adherence to standard work.
As applicable, execute improvement projects and measure impact. When additional engineering resources are required, provide support as needed.
Prepare detailed estimates for assigned projects and coordinate work to meet project completion dates, technical specifications, and budget parameters.
Assist in the training of production operators on new processes, tooling, and machinery.
Track progress of projects and process improvements completed and maintain records. Track and maintain all project cost savings and report to business partners.
Maintain liaison with the appropriate sectors - Marketing, Production, Maintenance, R&D, Quality, and EH&S - on all assigned projects.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution (Ceramic, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical)
Minimum (1) one year of experience in manufacturing or related industry
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
Proficiency in AutoCAD or Solid Works
Proficiency in Mini-Tab or other statistical software

Candidate must demonstrate knowledge of ASME B31.3 code requirements.
Candidate demonstrating experience in 2D MicroStation Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) is preferred.
Candidate must have the ability to walk down systems in the field.
Work Hours:
A 40 hour work week is scheduled. SRS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and a 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B). Work week excludes SRMC holidays.
Each work day has a 30-minute lunch.
Area Security Access:
