Experience and/or knowledge in the performance of spacecraft probability strategic assessments.

Job Description
The Customer Reliability Engineer works on-site at a customer facility, participating in activities with the customer to comply with the partnership agreement. The Engineer makes independent seal and equipment evaluations, selections and recommends with oversight from the account manager and/or regional engineer. Directs the installation and commissioning of mechanical seals and their auxiliary support systems.
Observes, collects, and evaluates customer data while working with the account manager and/or regional engineer. Then reports seal program's results utilizing John Crane's current reliability management software, e.g. ServiceMax.
Maintains John Crane's equipment survey. Communicates orally and in writing with customers, company personnel, and vendors while providing counseling, recommendations, and technical assistance. May include making technical presentations to customers or management with over site from the account manager or the regional engineer.
Provides customer training for maintenance and operations personnel as required. Assists customer with the Management of Change process. Collects new equipment data sheets from customer's project engineers for review by the account manager and/or regional engineer.
The candidate must be willing and able to travel as needed to support assignments.

Develop technical and scope documents to support process engineering oversight of assigned projects. Provide oversight to engineering contractors performing process work for project development.
Lead development of PFDs, P&IDs, PSM activities and reviews, control narratives, and cause & effect documents from initial design. Participates in development and implementation of operator training and operating manuals.
Provide leadership to development, maintenance and overall quality of other typical process engineering deliverables. These include process design basis, heat and mass balances, process simulations, equipment sizing and design, ISBL/OSBL (inside battery limits, outside battery limits) interface conditions, and other items relevant to assigned projects.
Supports project closeout process-related activities such as as-built drawings and MOC (Management of Change) closeout. Assists in lessons learned on project performance.
Develop project justification and submittals for annual capital budget.

Monitor and report status of technical recommendations through completion.
Some travel for training, professional development, and to interface with engineering contractors should be expected.
Education and Experience:

Location & Reporting

Daily Process Monitoring - Communicate unit performance, optimization opportunities, and environmental performance. Assist troubleshooting efforts with unit upsets, product quality incidents, not meeting production plans, etc.
Small to medium capital project process engineering support.
Maintain current work lists with priorities.
Key Performance Indicators (KPI) included as part of routine reporting (WABT curve, fouling, chemical and catalyst budgets, yields, etc.).
Manage catalyst performance and coordinate catalyst change timing.
Support unit operation within environmental limits.
Develop justification and work scope for TAR and routine maintenance - specifically catalyst changeout, exchanger cleaning, furnace pigging, etc.
Support / review operations procedures for start-up and shutdown.
Review / approve vendor chemical programs.
Inspect vessel internals for proper installation / tolerances of components.
Monitor / approve catalyst loading.
Publish recommendation memos and turnaround reports.
Evaluate need to request more samples for troubleshooting.
Daily interaction / communication with Board Operators.
Provide after-hours support when appropriate - emergency call out.
Alarm rationalization participation.
Understand controls logic and any Advanced Process Controls (APC).
PROJECT PROCESS LEADERSHIP
Work with Area Team to develop project ideas and submit project request forms (PRF) with a memo detailing economic benefits and justification.
Work with process controls group to develop / implement APC.
Provide process design basis.
PROCESS OPTIMIZATION
Monthly Reports - Review unit KPI's for the month and include analyses when appropriate with supporting data. Include unit performance on key economic drivers. Include recommendations for performance and reliability improvements and compliance with environmental permits.
Advisory Group Calls / Face to Face Technology Meetings - participate / attend / present.
Schedule reviews with vendors / Technologists.
Work with Technologists to understand and implement unit best practices.
Set outside feedstock properties and discuss opportunity feeds with Product Control.
Know / understand the process fully to identify constraints.
Work with Product Control for setting appropriate unit targets.
Unit yield monitoring and optimization.
Key decision maker for selecting programs, catalyst loads, etc.
Communicate with Product Control and other relevant groups regarding:
Catalyst budget curves / current performance
Operation against / changing process constraints
Unit actual yields vs Linear Programming (LP) model yields - monitor accuracy of LP yields
Understand Product Control targets and ensure proper implementation / understanding by Operations
Support Product Control on required rigorous model runs as necessary
TECHNICAL PSM STEWARDSHIP
Critical Process Variables/ Not to Exceed (CPV/NTE) Maintenance and Operating Limits support
Lead/Participate in the MOC process
Perform environmental calculations (leaks, maximum intended inventory, etc.)
Lead CAT1 and 2 Investigations for process related events
Participate in unit hazard reviews (What-Ifs, HAZOPs)
Support instrumentation Process Safety Information (PSI) and troubleshooting (thermowell calculations, orifices, etc.)
Provide / approve special chemical procedures
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum (Required) Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering required. (Education must be obtained/completed prior to start date)
Zero (0) years or more of experience in process
engineering within refining, petrochemical, or related
industries required.
Must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
A valid Driver's License is required upon hire.
Able to work off-hour duties such as plant shutdowns and routine on-call support.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a refinery setting as a process engineer or experience as an MPC Co-Op.
This positions grade may vary depending on candidate experience. The successful candidate will be placed at a level commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Essential Duties:
* Strong knowledge of CAD and modeling software
* Able to generate P&ID, Process flow diagrams, heat and mass balance and hazard analysis
