The Electrical Reliability Engineer at the Ascend Pensacola site is responsible for the design & reliability of electrical distribution systems & assets such as, turbogenerator, substations, transformers, switchgears, starters, protection relays, emergency generators, motors, VFD's, UPS & battery backup systems. This individual would be responsible for developing reliability strategies related to low medium & high voltage electrical equipment, providing guidance to internal customers to maintain the reliability of the electrical systems & for supporting continuous improvements objectives.
TARGETED OUTCOMES
The primary role of the Reliability Engineer is to ensure the availability and inability of the assets to meet the unit's production goals. Additionally, the Reliability Engineer supports both Capital and Expense projects to ensure design is both reliable and maintainable. Our goals and KPI's include outstanding safety performance, continuous improvement of both Technical and Behavioral skills through training and certification courses, absolute environmental compliance, zero unplanned equipment down time, consistent product quality, proper design and documentation of the asset care plans and use of Six-Sigma tools to continually improve maintenance, reliability and production.
They also drive performance to the levels which we believe are our “Entitlement” using Ascend to Excellence (A2E) behaviors, tools and skills and support the Ascend Core Values in every aspect of the job.

Design and implement innovative upgrades to both maintain performance levels through PM's, predictive maintenance and improve overall reliability and maintainability through projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership
Demonstrates leadership in driving Ascend's Zero-incident safety culture.
Implement established maintenance and reliability strategies.
Identify needed maintenance technition training and procedure development.
Identify and implement Cost Improvement and Cost Avoidance opportunities.
Processes
Respond to equipment failures and ensure that the daily production goals are achieved.
Support maintenance and capital replacements, repairs, and overhauls to equipment assets.
Write maintenance procedures or job plans as needed.
Document equipment failure history and costs using SAP and OEE data.
Perform routine electrical and instrumentation equipment troubleshooting.
Perform repair vs. replacement analysis on equipment.
Perform equipment root cause failure analysis.
Scope out and implement equipment replacement and upgrade projects.
Perform Asset Management duties for equipment including maintaining files and database for equipment data, ensure standardization of equipment and standards for equipment, and organize and manage spare inventories as part of the overall asset care strategy for the assets
Coordinate proactive fixes from Condition Monitoring findings with operations and maintenance personnel.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
minimum 3 years of experience in Low, Medium & High Voltage hardware & distribution systems maintenance & reliability in a manufacturing setting.
Prior Chemical, Plastics or Refining industry experience preferred.

What You Will Do:
This role is perfect for individuals looking to enhance their skills in construction materials testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, and other relevant materials while gaining additional industry certifications. As a Construction Materials Engineering Technician, you will spend most of your time outdoors, participating in projects and ensuring their integrity and safety. * Project and Document Analysis: Comprehend project specifications before fieldwork; precisely document observations and test outcomes related to construction materials, including soil, concrete, asphalt, and other relevant materials.

* American Concrete Institute (ACI): Field Testing Grade I; Strength Testing Technician; Laboratory Technician
* International Code Council (ICC): Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, Soils)
* DOT Certifications in the fields of Aggregate, Conventional Density, Asphalt, and Concrete
* Key Competencies:
* Effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language
* Math skills with a basic understanding of weight, volume, pressure, and units of measure
* The understanding of a fluctuating schedule and occasional travel
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
This role involves hands-on work in outdoor environments, and with Company-provided Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), you'll need to be comfortable with:
* Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
* Walking over rough, uneven terrain and standing (potentially up to 12 hours a day)

**Job Summary:**
The Manufacturing Engineer performs independent assignments to develop and recommend improvements in the Manufacturing system and in product manufacturability and cost effectiveness.
**Essential Functions:**

+ Investigate, recommend, and implement manufacturing cost reduction and product improvement programs.

+ Participate in customer specification and statement of work reviews.
+ Participate in the review and evaluation of new product designs or design changes.
+ Review and analyze design change requests initiated by manufacturing personnel to determine feasibility, validity, savings, effect on design, and to verify justification for change.
+ Evaluate, test and select facilities, equipment and materials required for production in conjunction with Production Supervisors, Purchasing and other groups.
+ Perform a variety of cost analyses, e.g., cost estimates for quotations or "make or buy" decisions.
+ Develop manufacturing operating instructions.
+ Develop and track manufacturing metrics to monitor the health of processes.
+ Evaluate non-conformances as part of the Material Review Board
+ Direct work activities of production operators to aid in problem solving.
+ Develop procedures and train assemblers and operators in machine operations, processes or assembly applications.
+ Coordinate with vendors and customers.
+ Identify and prioritize work with limited input from manager.
+ Develop ROI or business case and present to management in the support of capital equipment, new product or process development and productivity improvements.
+ Any other task assigned by supervisor or management.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer
+ Knowledge: Practical application knowledge of the theories of modern production principles and methods as applied to a high technology electronics design and manufacturing operation; Basic knowledge of material characteristics and processing, chemicals; Basic concepts of electrical systems, mechanical systems, fluids, and heat transfer
+ Knowledge of AS9100 and AS9145
+ Skills/Abilities: Able to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
+ Education/Certification: BA or BS degree required. Preferred in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Material Science or related field.
+ **Eligibility Requirement:** This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
