The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for providing process engineering and tooling support for the assembly of electronic circuit card assemblies and electronic "box build" assemblies to help ensure optimal production flow of product. Additionally, will generate production layout/work instructions for our production team that will support this objective. /Purpose: The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing and reviewing the procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing process. Their duties include researching automation techniques, testing new systems for efficiency and planning factory layouts to optimize production. This role will help develop quotes for new and existing customers while ensuring the best price and the highest quality standards are maintained. Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities: Perform tooling design for new part requirements and place orders with tooling manufacturers. Support quote requests from other company salespeople and manufacturing branches. Selecting, managing, and working with sub-contractors for equipment and facility uptime and maintenance programs. Evaluate manufacturing processes and make recommendations for improvements in quality and for continuous improvement activities. Analyze production processes, schedules, methods and other data and then provide management with reports containing the data and statistics to enable management to better understand future requirements needed for the manufacturing process. The Process Engineer will play a key role in optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality and safety. You will be responsible for identifying areas for improvement, designing and implementing solutions and ensuring production processes meet regulatory standards and company objectives. With expertise in root cause analysis, this role will drive systems improvement, and identify ways to operate differently, utilizing technology where possible to find solutions. Solutions focused; this role will provide hands on engineering input into the specialist engineering team. What you'll be doing After training you will be responsible for, but not limited to: • Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks and area of improvement. • Develop and implement strategies to optimize process parameters, reduce waste and increase productivity. • Collaborate with cross functional teams, production, quality, innovation and maintenance to implement process improvements. • Validation of processes to ensure new processes meet existing product specifications. • Develop process flow diagrams and P&ID's; develop scopes of work. • Monitor process performance, collect and analyze data and make recommendations for continuous improvement. • Develop and maintain documentation including Standard Operating Procedures (SOP'S), process flow diagrams, P&ID's and equipment specifications. • Coordinate with Operations and Innovation to proactively initiate and lead cross functional continuous improvement projects. • Provide regular reports as needed with respect to schedules, budgets, delays and problems. • Coordinate and oversee installations, repairs and preventive maintenance to property, facilities, production-based plant, equipment and control systems. • Develop ideas into conceptual engineering designs from first principles. • Stay current with industry trends, advancements in technology and nest practices in process engineering. • Provide design solutions and coordinate the production of schemes, drawings and assemblies.
