Horizon Organic is seeking a Reliability Engineer to advance and execute our plant-wide reliability strategy within a fast-paced, 24/7 dairy manufacturing environment. This role will lead reliability initiatives across UHT processing systems, filling and packaging equipment, utilities, automation systems, and plant infrastructure. About the Job:
Lead reliability and maintainability initiatives across all production and utility equipment to improve uptime, safety, and product quality.
Design, refine, and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs, including vibration analysis, infrared scans, lubrication standards, and oil analysis.
Oversee failure analysis through RCA, 5 Whys, and FMEA, driving corrective actions that improve long-term equipment performance.
Observe manufacturing processes daily and identify engineering opportunities for improvement.
Maintain all reliability documentation including maintenance plans, procedures, equipment histories, BDAs, and change management records.
Ensure all work aligns with food safety requirements, GMPs, PMO, and Horizon Organic quality standards.
Train and develop assigned maintenance technicians in troubleshooting, equipment repair, lubrication standards, and safe work practices.
Teach electrical and mechanical troubleshooting techniques (PLC, ladder logic, schematics, PID).
Demonstrate Horizon Organic values of respect, teamwork, and support while modeling safe, compliant behavior.
Provide technical guidance to elevate the skill level of the maintenance team.
Work closely with Operations, Quality, and EHS to align maintenance activities with production needs and regulatory requirements.
Participate in maintenance DDS meetings, SME/focus equipment meetings, and mechanic-to-mechanic shift handoffs.
Communicate equipment deficiencies to operations and schedule improvements to completion.
Support Autonomous Maintenance (AM) teams and collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives.
Support CI initiatives focused on reducing downtime, improving safety, and optimizing efficiency.
Participate in predictive maintenance activities and contribute to PM development, revision, and optimization.
Correct unsafe or quality-related hazards immediately and track progress through appropriate logs.
Prepare reports and documentation as required for compliance, audits, and budget tracking.
Provide support and leadership to address repetitive problems to root cause, spend time on the floor to understand the problems and collect data.
Coordinate team meetings to collectively develop a RC-PS to address repetitive problems.
Consider having time flexibility for days, nights and weekends if needed when business KPI's are compromised due to equipment reliability issues.
Provide supportive leadership to drive positive culture in regards of Safety, Quality and Productivity.
Strong ability to communicate with the teams across the plant
Demonstrate positive Leadership and understanding about company policies and reinforcement and alignment with CBA policies and rule
About You:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, degree in engineering, business, food science, or a related field preferred.
3+ years of operational and management experience within a food production environment.
Experience with UHT (Ultra High Temperature) processing preferred.
Familiarity with core plant equipment and systems, including pumps, hydraulics, electrical systems, boilers, compressors, and chillers.
Prior experience in consumer packaging preferred.
Strong planning, scheduling, and project management skills.
Knowledge of food technology and related principles.
Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication.
Ability to prioritize operations amid multiple and sometimes conflicting demands.
Strong knowledge of GMPs and food safety regulations.

The Sr. Validation Engineer will serve as a key contributor to process validation and equipment qualification initiatives, supporting GMP biologics manufacturing. This position is responsible for developing and executing validation strategies, authoring protocols, coordinating cross-functional activities and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Key Accountabilities/ Core Job Responsibilities:
Develop, execute and document validation strategies that comply with FDA, EMA and ICH Q7 - Q10 guidance.
Lead or support Process Validation Studies and Process Performance Qualification (PPQ) protocol drafting, approval and execution, ensuring alignment with site or corporate validation plans.

Install, examine, inspect, maintain and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures PLC & PID controllers and pipe, and electrical systems
Troubleshoot any mechanical or electrical problems using PLC, ladder diagrams, schematics, PID and or CMMS

Assist, if necessary, in preparation of the weekly maintenance work schedule in conjunction with the Maintenance Supervisor and Operations
Provides insight on the scope of all corrective work orders and orders parts and materials to ensure the job is completed in a timely manner
Assists the Maintenance Supervisor & peers with accomplishing the tasks at hand in a timely manner
Works with Operations and Maintenance Supervisor to identify areas of opportunity to schedule work during periods of downtime
Participates in weekly, bi-weekly and monthly Predictive Maintenance functions
Prepare reports for Maintenance Supervisor as necessary for compliance and budgetary requirements
Assist with maintenance activities as needed but not limited to PM's and repairs

Process Engineer III

Dennis Group's process engineers are key in our projects of designing and building food and beverage processing facilities. Process Engineers work in every aspect of a project - controls, packaging, mechanical, electrical, building system, architecture, etc., from the conceptual stages to design completion, and throughout construction. They provide expertise in flow diagrams, alterations, constraints, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), layout, install, and commissioning and start-up. Process engineers enable operational efficiencies for the food and beverage process plants of our clients. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Responsibilities
Execute all tasks necessary to complete the engineering on a project for design through execution with minimal support
Developing process design basis and select unit operations
Develop operation specifications
Coordinate with other project disciplines (engineers, designers, architects, etc.)
Preparing process flow and piping and instrumentation diagrams
Create process flow diagrams
Preparing mass and energy balances
Sizing and specification of process and process utility equipment
Equipment procurement and bid evaluation
Assisting project management with the development of project scope, budget and schedule for all process related work
Helping to coordinate the schedules and work of contractors for process equipment installation
Prepare preliminary sub-contractor scope of work
Work with clients, vendors, and suppliers to develop cost estimates and proposals
Write proposals, negotiate agreements, trouble-shoot client issues
Update drawings provided by senior engineers to verify corrections
Compile information for client presentations, shop drawings review, and contract administration for the design of power, process, pipeline, etc.
Take on lead process engineer on specific projects and be the client main process point of contact
Generate requirements for equipment performance
Collaborates with Project Management, design team, CAD department, vendors and clients to determine needs and solutions for continuous processing/ packaging systems and to develop specifications.
Provide client assumptions on supply recommendations
Develop process and instrumentation drawings (P&IDs) and create review of layout drawings
Overseeing process and utility equipment installations
Provide onsite construction start-up and commissioning support
Perform onsite audits and surveys of the facilities and equipment
Researching processing engineering best practices
Supporting talent growth within our organization
Assists with interviewing and hiring new team members
Handle complex issues and tasks with minimal supervision and advise subordinate team members on solutions to issues they encounter.
Provide coaching and/or mentoring to a subordinate group when directed by supervisor.
Required Education Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in chemical or process engineering.
8-11 years of work experience developing process designs for food and beverage processing facilities
8-11 years of work experience preparing process flow diagrams and P&IDs
8-11 years of work experience sizing and specification of process and process utility equipment.
8-11 years of work experience developing project scope, budget and process related work schedules
Work experience with professional services, process engineering, and food and beverage firms is a plus
Interest in food safety and sanitary design principles and a desire learn about various food and beverage industry standards, practices, and regulations
Proficiency with MS Office, MS Project, and AutoCAD
Excellent oral and written communication skills with proven client interaction and experience
Must meet Travel Requirement - On-site construction project coordination and management with travel requirements between 30-50% of the year
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift-up to 15 pounds at times.
Travel Requirement
Up to 50% travel required to visit project site and other offices.
