Starting Pay: $24.00 / hour

Additional $2.00 shift differential from 3pm - 6am

Responsibilities:

+ Assist with the improvement of the asset catalog, preventative maintenance optimization, and scheduling of corrective maintenance; write specifications, procedures, and test programs for reliability testing and characterization

+ Prepare technical reports, document test results, and assist in selection of new reliability equipment

+ Assemble and lead cross-functional teams (maintenance, operations, engineering, procurement) to support a wide variety of reliability improvement opportunities in the plant; act as a team resource for all types of breakdowns

+ Apply various reliability principles such as Asset Strategy Improvement (ASI), Operating Envelope (OE), Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Motor Circuit Analysis, various infrared thermography routes, structure and air bourn ultrasound routes, motor testing, vibration analysis, oil analysis, precision lubrication, and precision alignment

+ Resolve specific reliability issues and drive reliability improvements that support all areas of the plant

+ Install, move, remove, repair, and troubleshoot equipment

+ Work in a safe manner and report any unsafe conditions or practices

+ Other duties as assigned

This position requires a responsible, safety conscious, self-motivated individual. The successful candidate must be capable of working safely in an industrial manufacturing environment. The goal of this position is to minimize downtime and maximize production through the use of predictive maintenance (PdM) techniques and coordinating the necessary maintenance through teamwork with other maintenance and operations personnel. Perform AutoCAD and manual drafting and layout work associated with equipment and process modification while providing moderately complex technical support to the electric engineering department.
+ Collect and analyze PdM route vibration data

+ Determine equipment faults and fault severity

+ Verify repairs and collect baseline vibration data

+ Participate in investigating failures (Break Down Analysis)

+ Maintain PdM route data base

+ Maintain cabling and sensors for remotely monitored equipment

+ Other maintenance reliability centered duties as assigned

+ Initiate clearly defined work requests to communicate recommendations on equipment that has been identified as having defects

+ Communicate equipment liabilities to operations and maintenance management

+ Conduct mandatory monthly Leadership Safety Observations

+ Support weekend maintenance call duty and crew management as needed

+ Establish defect repair priorities

+ Keep Condition Monitoring Status Reports updated and current with all liabilities and recommended work

Education/Experience:

+ High School Diploma or GED equivalent

+ 2+ years' experience in the pulp and paper industry or related heavy manufacturing industry as a Maintenance Technician and/or Vibration Analyst.

+ Vibration Certification: ASNT Level I / ISO Category II

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook).

+ Good Mathematical skills and aptitude

+ Ability to identify critical tasks and establish priorities.

+ Able to adapt and respond to unforeseen changes in plans and initiate new plans

+ Basic knowledge of on line vibration monitoring systems

+ Associate's degree, vocational degree or equivalent military and/or apprenticeship program, preferred

+ Experience with Emerson/CSI Products preferred

Skills/Abilities:

+ Understanding of LEAN manufacturing, Continuous Improvement (CI) and Total Productive Manufacturing (TPM) concepts

Majestic Steel is excited to add a Reliability Tech to our Hickman Service Center. Our Hickman Service Center is expected to be operational by the end of 2022, so be one of the first to join our newest team. This role monitors and conducts preventative maintenance on equipment and building. They also assist in completing special projects that may be assigned to the area while also performing duties and responsibilities for the Service Center Operations area consistent with company goals to include safety, quality, productivity and customer service.

What you will do

Responsible for the completion of all maintenance service requests, as assigned.

Responds to equipment breakdowns quickly, troubleshoots resolution in a timely manner as possible.
Schedule and complete preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance to equipment and building according to established procedures.
Monitor and maintain all building systems, as assigned.
Analyze work processes and equipment to make recommendations for improved processes and efficiencies.
Performs necessary research for repairs and identifies supplies/parts needed to complete the task.

Maintains superior records in the CMMS System.
Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
Troubleshoot various production lines.
Dismantle defective machines and equipment, and install new or repaired parts.
Ability to troubleshoot an anomaly independently.

Assist in monitoring all work performed by outside contractors.
Advocate for safety and provide regular safety observations.
Perform lock-out tag-out as an authorized associate with non-routine or major repairs, as needed.
Maintain a safe work environment by practicing good work habits, housekeeping procedures and adhering to safety guidelines.
Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work and in accordance with Safety Policy and OSHA standards.

Other job related duties and special projects as assigned.

Additional

Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
Must be able to stand 10 hours per day, in addition to walking, sitting, climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling.

Be able to mount, dismount and operate powered industrial equipment.
Must be able to work in both hot and cold atmospheres depending on weather conditions.
Must be able to work outside normal business hours/days, as needed, which includes weekdays and weekends.

Who you are

Education, Training and Experience Requirements

Five years maintenance experience or Technical Trade school degree.
Advanced knowledge in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic fundamentals
Advanced knowledge of preventative maintenance, repair and or installation of industrial equipment using skills associated with trades such as electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing or welding.

Experience in MS Office products and windows-based computer applications.
Technical Trade School degree. (Preferred)
Ten years maintenance experience. (Preferred)
Expertise in troubleshooting and repair of flat-rolled steel equipment (i.e. slitter, cut-to-length line), general machinery, and lift trucks. (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements

Expertise in hydraulics, pneumatics, fabrication, and welding.
Expertise in fabrication of effectively complete simple or complex designs.
Experience with lift truck repairs and preventative maintenance.

Knowledge of electronics and programmable logic control (PLC).
Knowledge of electrical power.
Ability to read and interpret prints and drawings (blue prints, schematics, and technical drawings).
Has access to their own tools and tool box.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow processes and procedures
