Summary: The Material Handler - Shipping picks and processes customer orders and distribution centers accurately and on time.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for processing customer orders and filling distribution centers
Compiles, organizes, and prepares all orders as directed from the Shipping Supervisor
Operates a handheld scanner to scan barcodes and delivers materials to their target location
Operates forklift, lift truck, side loaders, pallet trucks, picker and other loading/stacking equipment
Responsible daily inspection of forklifts
Performs on-spot checking
Maintains and organizes warehouse storage including pallet consolidation and cleanliness of aisles
Promote a safe workplace by performing all tasks in a safe and thoughtful manner in compliance with all rules, procedures, instructions, devices, equipment and use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Maintain vigilance for any hazardous conditions or practices in the workplace and immediately report any unsafe condition or practice to your supervisor.

Ability to be punctual and attend work on a regular and consistent basis
The person in this position needs to wear appropriate safety clothing and shoes when needed. This includes a need for a safety harness, safety glasses, lift belts, steel toe shoes, etc.
Ability to safely drive a forklift and operate lift trucks, side loaders, pickers, pallet trucks, and other loading/stacking equipment
Must be able to stand for most of the day which equates to 90% of the time
Occasionally will be expected to lift large material not to exceed 75 pounds
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma

Roles & Responsibilities

* To perform light and preventative maintenance and adjustments to cement loading equipment.
* To ensure that proper product is being distributed by automation into proper containers.

* To perform physical inventories of all pack house and bulk silo materials.
* To handle, distribute and maintain all pack house materials such as pallets, bags, etc.

Specific Accountabilities:
Bulk Rail
* Operate railcar mover to place empty railcars at the proper loading silo.
* With sales orders provided by management, load railcars to specified tonnages. Place railcars in staging areas requested by distribution department.
* Enter appropriate information into SAP bulk loading software, print BOL.
* Ensure a sample is taken of every other railcar and stored in proper location
* Verify car tops are clean of buildup and clean as necessary.
* Provide distribution and supervisors with car count at beginning of day.
* Provide distribution with switch list at end of day
* Switch Southern Lime railcars as required
Bulk Truck
* With sales order information provided by truck driver, load truck to the proper weight
* Enter appropriate information into PeopleSoft bulk loading software, print BOL. Have driver sign copies, keep original signature copy.
* Ensure a sample is taken of every 10th truck and stored in proper location
Packing
* Per instruction from supervision for product to produce, set up packer, valves, and bags for the product ensuring the proper product and the proper weight is packed in the proper
* bag.
* Verify color at the beginning of each shift by comparing sample to standard.
* Verify date stamper is operating and stamping correct date
* Troubleshoot all downtime instances; keep machine operating at maximum capacity.
Forklift / Palletizer
* Troubleshoot all downtime on palletizer; keep machine operating at maximum capacity.
* Remove full pallets from exit line and place them in proper storage area for the specific product
* Operate forklift in a safe manner
* Receive sales orders from truck drivers as they arrive, print pick list for particular load, load appropriate bags on truck. Print BOL and have driver sign copies, keep original signature copy.
* Receive inbound products in PeopleSoft, store products in proper area.
* Place empty bags required by packer on empty bag elevator
* Place empty pallets on palletizer

Qualifications
