As a Harness Engineer at Reliable Robotics, you will be a part of the system integration team and will report to the System Integration Engineering Manager. The system integration team is a small group of highly motivated engineers designing, integrating, testing, and flying advanced mechanical and electrical systems. The harness engineer is a very cross-functional role at the convergence of the avionics, mechanical, integration, and production teams, with significant hands-on work designing, building, integrating, and testing our harnesses, enclosures, and mounting hardware; expect to broaden your design and application experience. Responsibilities In your role as a Harness Engineer you will work with the avionics, mechanical, and integration teams to define the harnessing design, including routing, component selection, and manufacturing and integration processes. You'll be responsible for the detailed design of both flight and test harnesses, and you'll be working with the production technicians and A&Ps to get the harnesses built and installed on the aircraft. You'll have the opportunity to design, install, and test your hardware on a remotely operated aircraft, and you'll be an instrumental part of how our hardware teams come together on the airplane. Responsibilities In your role as Avionics Hardware Engineer, you will design, analyze, document, test, and troubleshoot electronic assemblies at the circuit board through integrated electro-mechanical level. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team of electrical, mechanical, software, manufacturing and test engineers as the expert on your hardware. You will drive improvements to the hardware through benchtop, environmental, and on-aircraft testing, and perform root-cause investigations to characterize, document, and rectify anomalous behavior in a safety-critical environment. Basic Success Criteria * Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent experience * Demonstrated ability to complete and ship projects and deliverables * Professional experience with ECAD tools such as Altium * Ability to work within a team, including strong written and verbal communication skills * Ability to methodically diagnose, document, and solve electronic hardware problems Preferred Criteria * Professional experience with the full electronics product life-cycle, from conceptual design through production * Direct hands-on experience with analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design, analysis, test, and debug * Experience designing electronics to meet rigorous environmental standards (aerospace, military, automotive, or harsh industrial) * Proficiency with Python and/or MATLAB for analysis, data review, and test setup scripting We're a growing, motivated, fast-paced team of avionics professionals. This role is on-site in Mountain View, CA. Must be willing to travel 10% of the time. The estimated salary range for this position is $110,000 to $162,000/annual salary + cash and stock option awards + benefits.
