As a Navigation intern at Reliable Robotics, you will work with a team of mission-driven engineers with experience across aviation, space, robotics and self-driving cars to support our autonomous flight systems. Reliable Robotics has year-round internship opportunities for students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or a similar field of study. Successful candidates will work alongside senior engineers to design, implement, and test navigation systems.Responsibilities Design, implement and test navigation flight software Improve simulation sensor models for evaluation of the navigation system Build infrastructure for automated simulation and hardware-in-the-loop testing of navigation sensors and algorithms Integrate and verify navigation system features in software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop test environments. Develop flight test plans and conduct post-test data review. As a software intern, you will work in areas such as developing tools for the barkback teams to get even more done, developing new functionality for the barkback website and apps, and enhancing barkback's backend systems and databases. You'll get to work closely with our web developers and product teams to bring new product features to life as well as make the existing product even more amazing. Being extremely intelligent doesn't hurt. Qualifications Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or Ph.D in Computer Science or related technical discipline. Experience developing web-based applications. Proficiency in a modern programming language. Experience working with a MVC framework, and more specifically Ruby on Rails, is a plus. Experience using AJAX/JSON and creating robust APIs is heavily encouraged, but not required. You must be able to work from our amazing office located in downtown Santa Barbara.
