What general advice would you give to a religion teacher?

Jack Corvin Ph.D.

Assistant Professor of Philosophy, Ferrum College

The skills required to do well in philosophy are critical thinking, problem-solving, reading comprehension, written and verbal communication, etc. -- are skills that will serve graduates well in any career they happen to choose, and they are skills that transfer easily from one job to another. This is especially important in an ever-changing world in which there is very little job security. However, just as important is that the study of philosophy requires students to reflect deeply and carefully on problems associated with human existence, thereby preparing them for the issues they will face both in and out of the workplace.
