We are seeking a highly skilled Mid-Senior Level Engineer with strong expertise in Python, AWS cloud services, containerization, and modern AI/ML technologies. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience designing scalable data ingestion pipelines, deploying GenAI/LLM solutions, and building retrieval-augmented and agentic systems for enterprise use cases. This role involves end-to-end solution design-data, infrastructure, orchestration, and model integration-across cloud-native environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and deploy scalable applications and microservices using Python and AWS services (Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, DynamoDB, API Gateway, Bedrock, CloudFormation, etc.).
Build and maintain containerized workloads using Docker, GitHub workflows, and CI/CD automation.
Develop robust data ingestion and processing pipelines integrating structured/unstructured data sources.
Implement GenAI solutions using LLMs, embeddings, vector databases (Pinecone, FAISS, Redis, etc.), and RAG architectures.
Build and manage knowledge bases, embedding pipelines, and context-retrieval systems optimized for real-world performance.
Design and orchestrate agentic workflows using modern agentic frameworks and multi-agent patterns for automation and decision-making.
Work with AWS Bedrock to integrate foundation models, manage guardrails, tune prompts, and optimize model performance.
Implement secure, scalable infrastructure using CloudFormation, IAM, VPC, and AWS networking best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data, product, engineering) to translate requirements into technical designs.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize production AI/ML workloads, including inference performance, latency, cost, and reliability.
Maintain strong code quality standards through GitHub version control, documentation, and automated testing.
Required Skills & Experience
8+ years of professional experience in software engineering, cloud engineering, or ML/AI development.
Expert-level programming skills in Python (FastAPI, Flask, Async frameworks preferred).
Deep experience with AWS services, including serverless and container architectures.
Hands-on experience with Docker, CI/CD, and IaC tools like CloudFormation or CDK.
Proven experience building RAG pipelines, vector store integrations, and embedding workflows.
Strong understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering, model evaluation, and generative AI development.
Experience with agentic orchestration (LangChain, LlamaIndex, custom agent frameworks, or AWS Agents).
Experience integrating with AWS Bedrock or similar foundation model platforms.
Solid understanding of distributed systems, API development, security, and cloud-native patterns.

Work Environment:
Schedule: Field work rotations consist of a schedule targeting 16 days in the field followed by 12 days off.

Compensation:
The estimated salary range for this position is estimated to be $59,000 - $75,000/year. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. SRE considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. Additionally, SRE adheres to all state and federal requirements regarding salary to ensure compliance with applicable labor laws. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of SRE's total compensation package for employees.
Work Environment:
The primary work location of this position is Washington D.C. Metro area, remote work is allowed but not guaranteed. If you live outside the commutable area, travel expenses are not reimbursed to the primary work location.

The SIEM Engineer works in Optiv Security's 24x7x365 Security Operations Center as a member of the Managed Security Services (MSS) team. The employee will be responsible for creation of procedures, implementation of processes and development of SIEM Engineers for managing and maintaining security systems for client environments. Experience and knowledge of SIEM and other Security Technologies is essential. The candidate will work closely with Management, Principal Engineers, Senior Engineers, Solution Architects, Threat Analysts and other internal teams, vendors and clients to complete high profile, critical services to existing Managed Security Service clients. Serve as a primary responder for Managed Security customer systems, taking ownership of client issues and tracking through resolution.
How you'll make an impact:
* Provide support for Microsoft Sentinel and Exabeam Clients.
* Act as a point of escalation for other Engineers (Associate SIEM Engineer & SIEM Engineer) and provide guidance and mentoring.
* Assist with client transition and onboarding serve as primary point of contact for Managed Security Service clients.
* This will require documentation of Account Governance processes and responsibility for report generation and notification to senior leadership about potential client Service Level Agreement (SLA) issues.
* Explain and demonstrate how to use Exabeam or Microsoft Sentinel, products to both technical and relatively non-technical personnel.
* Provide remote consulting services via interactive client sessions to assist with implementation of multiple product vendors and technologies.
* Implement, configure, and maintain SIEM software and appliance-based products in large enterprise and Government environments.
* Develop, deploy and tune SIEM content such as correlation rules, dashboards, reports and models.
What we're looking for:
* 4+ years professional experience managing and maintaining SIEM systems.
* 1-2 years professional experience working with networks and network architecture.
* 1+ year professional experience writing SIEM content specifically for Microsoft Sentinel or Exabeam.
* Ability to deal confidently with complex technical problems.
* Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Sentinel and/or Exabeam (Search, Collectors, Advanced Analytics/New Scale Analytics).
* Well-versed in building correlation rules using security logs to detect malicious activity with high fidelity.
* In-depth knowledge of security logging for Linux, Windows, major EDRs, Firewalls, & Active Directory.
* Experience with installing and configuring (settings) Microsoft Sentinel and/or Exabeam (Search, Collectors, Advanced Analytics/New Scale Analytics).
* The ability to aggregate and analyze logs from various deployed security devices.
* Experience with creating custom: content, dashboards, reports, and alerts.
* Shift flexibility, including the ability to provide on call support (24/7) when needed.
* Experience working with Internal and client Ticketing and Knowledge Base Systems for Incident and Problem tracking as well as procedures. (i.e., ServiceNow etc.) preferred.
* General security knowledge (GSEC, CISSP, CCSE, CISA,, CEH, Cisco Security, Security +, or other security certifications) preferred.
* Knowledge of Linux and Windows Operating Systems preferred.
* An understanding of a wide array of server grade applications such as: DBMS, Exchange, DNS, SMTP, IIS, Apache, SharePoint, Active Directory, Identity Management, Patch Management, LDAP, SQL, and others preferred.
* Experience with various SIEM security products such as: Microsoft Sentinel, Exabeam, Splunk, LogRhythm, QRadar, and infrastructure components such as proxies, firewalls, IDS/IPS, DLP etc. preferred.
* Familiarity with RegEx preferred.

Data Integration and ETL Development:

Use tools like Epic's Clarity ETL, Caboose, or custom SQL/SSIS packages to move data reliably and efficiently.
Data Warehouse Management (Clarity & Caboodle):
* Maintain and optimize the Clarity and Caboodle databases to ensure accurate, timely, and performant reporting.
* Implement data refresh strategies, monitor data loads, and troubleshoot failures in data pipelines.
Reporting and Analytics Support:

Performance Tuning and Optimization:

* Work proactively to prevent performance bottlenecks in large data sets and complex reporting environments.
Collaboration, Security, and Compliance:
* Work closely with Epic application teams, database administrators, and security teams to ensure compliance with data governance and HIPAA regulations.
* Manage user access, roles, and security settings in Cogito-related environments (Clarity, Caboodle, SlicerDicer).
