A Day in the Life as a Field Support Technician
As a Field Support Technician, you will provide daily phone support by communicating and directing end users and/or distributor technicians to a safe and sequential diagnosis of required repairs relative to field service and product installation issues. Job Summary/Description:
This position will be responsible for all IT systems in this broadcast facility. This includes software upgrades and patches to various equipment, along with networking responsibilities. This position will also include the incorporation of new systems related to television broadcast systems.
WBAY-TV/ABC in Green Bay, WI, is seeking an IT Engineer. TV/Broadcasting experience will be a benefit. The candidate should be familiar with maintaining the studio, control room, ENG, transmission equipment, and IT equipment for a broadcast station. This full-time position will also be involved in the operations of the IT equipment of the station, including the phone system, infrastructure, computer switches, and all desktop computers. It is important this position works closely with all Departments to help determine the technical direction that the station will be moving toward and recommend IT equipment that will support that direction. This information will be needed to determine the Capital Budgeting plan of the station.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Troubleshooting, maintaining, and installing studio and editing equipment, and installing and maintaining computer equipment.
• This position will also determine when the software update will be pushed out to the various groups of computers.
• This is a Monday-Friday position, but occasional weekend and night shifts will be necessary.
• All engineering staff are on call 24/7.
Qualifications/Requirements:

Place orders with vendors to ensure adequate levels of supplies for daily operations. Partner with vendors to adequately fill and expedite orders. Answer any questions and provide status updates to the production team and stores.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
PRODUCTION OPERATIONS
• Process merchandise and supply orders by accurately sorting and pulling supplies (frames, lenses, etc.) for fabrication of eyeglasses for the stores
• Order appropriate stock to maintain the right inventory levels and coordinate inventory procedures as directed
• Receive inbound shipments accurately and place in proper location in the Optical Lab and ensure all paperwork associated with orders is handled correctly
• Follow up with vendors to resolve shipping or pricing issues
• Communicate out of stock issues to the production team and stores
• Adjust orders as needed to provide a substitute for backordered product
• Prepare orders for delivery by ensuring all orders are packaged correctly and placed in the proper outbound delivery location
