The Contract Technical Specialist will be responsible for performing detailed contract reviews of customer quotations and orders and will ensure compliance with the assistance of functional departments. The Contract Technical Specialist shall be very familiar with customer requirements and will continuously work to drive improvements by development of checklists and compliance matrices
Responsibilities
The Contract Technical Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Ensure safety is the foundation of daily work through vigilance and accountability
Ability to read and interpret customer specifications, quality requirements, and customer/Sargent engineering drawing notes
Ensure adherence to contract review timelines
Maintain cross-functional communication with all departments and management
Creating customer checklists and compliance matrices that will enable effective and efficient contract reviews
Perform detailed contract reviews for new customer orders and summarize pertinent special items that need to be identified and adhered to within each customer order such as:
Use of approved sources for raw material or outside processes
Defining quality inspections and tests that must be performed on material or fabricated product
Unique part marking requirements/methods
Certifications required on material or finished product
Specialized requirements or testing that needs to be performed
Special packaging requirements
Special source inspections that must be conducted prior to shipment
The output from the Contract Technical Specialist will be sent to Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality so contract review items are adhered to on purchase orders, manufacturing work orders, and quality inspections
The Contract Technical Specialist will also notify Product Management/Customer Support if there are new items on the contract that are discovered that would affect Sargent's cost to manufacture the product so that Product Management/Customer Support can address this with customers before the product is produced
Enter cross-referencing information in ERP applications for manufacturing, customer service planning, quality, and outside sales
Write reports, update, and work with desktop instructions and company work instructions
Perform job functions in accordance with set policies and procedures to ensure preservation of the company policy
Minimum Qualifications
Education - a two-year college degree in a technical related field or equivalent engineering or quality assurance job experience in a manufacturing environment
Must be able to read and interpret customer specifications, quality requirements, and customer/Sargent engineering drawing notes
The candidate should have general cross-functional knowledge of manufacturing fabrication processes, quality requirements, and engineering drawings
Demonstrated strong attention to detail is a must for this position
Working knowledge of ERP systems
High level of MS Office proficiency
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with aerospace contracts highly valued
Experience with cross-functional, group work environments
Experienced as customer delegated inspector
Experience with DFARS (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement)

Your role and responsibilities
As an Infrastructure Lab Technician Apprentice at IBM, you will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge and experience using the latest tools and technologies to support IBM processors, storage or other semiconductor hardware.
Throughout your apprenticeship, you will work closely with experienced engineers, technicians and other mentors in a production and/or development hardware raised floor environment to maintain all specific hardware related to the IBM Infrastructure Group.
Where applicable, you will be taught all day-to-day activities/responsibilities of a hardware raised floor environment on multiple different Infrastructure specific raised floors. This work will be physical hands on in nature with some lifting and physical dexterity requirements. You will also learn and be responsible for a variety of lab safety procedures relevant to the specific raised floor environment, as well as learning and utilizing the specific hardware life cycle workload applications. To that end, you will be trained and expected to certify via testing in all specific responsibilities. Specific to the hardware life cycle, you will be expected to rack, stack, cable (power and network), new hardware, as well as un-rack and pack old hardware and cabling.
What is an Apprenticeship?
IBM Apprenticeship Program is an official registered apprenticeship recognized by the Department of Labor (DOL). Every graduate of a Registered Apprenticeship program receives a nationally recognized credential from the DOL.
During the apprenticeship duration, you will be required to complete specific learning hours and on the job training that has been outlined to ensure you are developing the skills and competencies essential to the role. You will be able to learn and grow at your own pace, but we expect most apprentices will complete their learning within 12 months. Once you graduate and receive your certificate from our apprentice program, you will be eligible to apply to available full-time roles at IBM.

What's the experience?
