Kenichiro “Ken” Ito is chairman of DENSO’s North American Board of Directors and chief executive officer (CEO) of DENSO International America, Inc. (DIAM). Located in Southfield, Michigan, Ito oversees all North American group companies and affiliates, and is responsible or strengthening the DENSO brand in North America. In 1985, Ito began his career in the Air Conditioning Planning Department at DENSO Corp. (formerly Nippondenso Co., Ltd.), where his responsibilities focused on cost and profit planning. He stayed with this same group from 1985 to 2003, and served in various roles with increased responsibility. In 2003, Ito transferred to DENSO Thermal Systems S.p.A, located in Torino, Italy. Here, Ito was responsible for management of DENSO thermal business in Europe. One of his major accomplishments in this role included building the foundation of DENSO regional management.
