Responsibilities
The project manager be responsible for, and manage, all aspects of projects from business development, scope and fee development, staffing plan development, project oversight and execution, quality management, and financial performance responsibilities\. The project manager will support and lead both on\-the\-job and classroom training efforts for less experienced team members\. Key responsibilities will include:
+ Business development: Develop new, and manage existing, client relationships through client marketing and project interactions; identify new sales opportunities with clients; lead all aspects of proposal development and submission including project planning, budgeting, and scheduling; establish critical project objectives and performances with client; lead contract preparation and negotiations\.
+ Project execution: Lead all aspects of project execution including scope, schedule, and budget; ensure quality control of deliverables; analyze and communicate project status, risks, schedule, and costs to all internal and external stakeholders; lead multi\-discipline teams of engineers and analysts; plan, organize, and communicate project personnel needs to department management\.

**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor of Science in engineering or related field from an accredited program\.
+ Advanced degree is a plus such as an MBA or Engineering Management\.
+ Minimum 7 years related experience with a broad and deep understanding of renewable generation, specifically wind and/or solar, including 3 or more years managing engineering or architectural projects\.
+ Deep and broad base of knowledge of the electric utility industry, specifically regarding development, design, and construction of renewable generation facilities, specifically focusing on wind and/or solar generation, and of electric utility systems and their operation\.
+ Extensive experience with development, design, and construction of wind/solar generation projects, experience with energy storage a plus\.
+ Proven ability to lead, educate, and train a team of engineers and analysts in regard to renewable generation studies and design efforts\.

Job Description
This role will be focused on the Renewable Energy Team with a proven track record of success in developing solar energy projects. We are looking for someone who will lead both greenfield site origination and development efforts for distributed generation solar projects. In this role, you will be responsible for advancing a portfolio of existing community solar projects across New York while developing and implementing strategy to backfill and grow the project pipeline. This will include working with both internal and external resources including development partners to achieve objectives. The ideal candidate must live in the state of New York. This person will report to the Managing Director, Renewable Energy Development.
Responsibilities
- Advance greenfield and acquisition development opportunities, meeting annual business plan targets on time and on budget.
- Conduct independent site visits to assess project viability.
- Negotiate landowner agreements and conduct pre-development due diligence.
- Coordinate interconnection, environmental diligence, permitting and other projects. development activities with external resources.
- Manage outreach campaigns and messaging.
- Represent CleanChoice at local, county and state level permitting meetings/public hearings
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market conditions including policy, interconnection, permitting and competition.
- Prepare and manage project schedules communicating reasonable milestone dates.
- Prepare and manage project budgets including cash flows clearly communicating project spend profiles.
- Clearly communicate project funding requests, risk exposure and mitigation.
- Procure and manage consultants and vendors necessary to advance initiatives.
- Coordinate with cross functional teams such as Origination, FP&A, Marketing and Legal.
Qualifications and Skills
- 5+ years of relevant solar origination and development experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field (i.e., technical, business, science).
- Demonstrated achievements advancing projects from site identification through NTP and or COD.
- Experience supporting project and portfolio sales.
- Effective organizational skills including the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to communicate and effectively work within multidisciplinary project teams, establishing sound relationships and work efficiently and courtesy with stakeholders.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in geographically dispersed environments.
- Ability to mentor and manage supporting staff.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in renewable energy
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office suite programs. AutoCad, Sketchup and/or ArcGIS a plus
