For the past 18 years, in positions ranging from Test Engineer to Engineering Manager, I've worked with amazing groups of people solving challenging software problems. During this time, as a professional engineer, I've been a party to both success and failure, with the successes outweighing the failures, and all contributing to my continuing education and maturity as a leader.

In my most recent position at Jeppesen (A Boeing subsidiary) I was trusted to lead software engineering efforts for Jeppesen's Mobile FliteDeck for Windows product lines which support clients such as FedEx, Delta, and a number of other airlines. In my role as Engineering Manager I focused on creating a stable and predictable engineering process with open and inclusive communication to all stakeholders, including customers, which served the needs of both the development staff and senior management. I believe this was a successful formula and these teams were recognized with the CAS Service Excellence Award two years in a row. During this time I had the opportunity to attend The Boeing Leadership Center for both First Line Leadership V3 as well as Program Managers Workshop.

I attended the University of Denver from 2012 to 2014 to seek an MBA, during which I pursued a custom concentration in alternative dispute resolution. All complex organizations have conflict and poor or nonexistence strategies to effectively manage that conflict is a major cost driver. In general, higher performing teams have better conflict resolution strategies and a little extra attention in this area can pay big dividends.
