As an Inspector/Packer, you will be part of a team performing a variety of activities to manufacture vinyl siding products and accessories for the residential and manufactured housing industry. Our work schedules allow you plenty of time off throughout the week. On average, you will work 15 days a month but are full-time employees with great pay and benefits! $19.00 per hour INSPECTOR/PACKER ACTIVITIES: * Packages product in cartons with the correct nesting pattern and piece count. * Able to pack all siding panels. * Able to package all skirting and skirting accessories. * Able to pack all siding accessories. * Able to pack product using semi-autopacker. Able to set up autopacker for new product and troubleshoot minor issues. * Ensures good product quality. * Performs regular QA checks per packer inspection work instruction. * Communicates any quality issues to the operator, QA, or Supervisor in a timely manner. * Assists to identify defective product. * Insures good carton quality. * Cartons glued correctly. * Correct labels on cartons. * Cartons are square. CARTON MAKER ACTIVITIES: * Folds, glues, and labels tube cartons for lines as needed. CRATER ACTIVITIES: * Crates products per specifications. * Able to crate all siding panels. * Able to crate Skirting packs on tunnel wrapper. * Able to use Robo-wrapper for crating product. OTHER ACTIVITIES: * Assists in starting up extrusion lines when needed. This includes stringing up the line, cutting scrap using hacksaw, and feeding part into the MRF. * Assists in purging line out for any shutdowns. Puts vinyl tear off in properly labeled Gaylord once it has cooled. * Assists in the training of new associates to defined tasks. * Follows all safety rules and procedures. * Practices good housekeeping skills by keeping work area clean and free of clutter. Keeps all vinyl scrap, labels, and spare cardboard picked up off the floor. * Performs activities in accordance with the procedures outlined in the work instructions. * Performs all other duties as instructed by Supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS: * Prior manufacturing experience preferred. * High school diploma or GED. * A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and work as a team player. * Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and complete any required paperwork. * Ability to follow instructions. Constructs cardboard cartons to contain finished products manufactured, ensuring that proper carton is being utilized to hold products from bins. Visually inspects product for proper print and seal through plastic bag or in bulk form prior to bagging. Periodically open random logs of product to perform close visual inspection. Performs quality control by opening random bags of product to perform a close visual inspection along with notifying Production Leader or Production Equipment Operator immediately of any quality defects. Packs product into cartons while ensuring that the correct number of bags of product is packed based on order specifications or manually counts the amount product going into the bag if handbagging. Properly seal the carton and apply proper stamping and label(s) while making certain that stamp is legible and the correct code date is on each carton. Move the packed cartons of finished product to the designed stacking area and then place the stacks of cartons together in the correct configuration in preparation for pick-up by the forklift operator. Sets aside defective product for re-work or scrapping while making certain that no defective product is shipped to the customer. Work at an efficient and safe pace to keep packing bins or stacking tubes clear. Assures a smooth flow of product through the packing process by responding to any product jams (bells, buzzers or lights), clearing the product jam and restarting the equipment properly and safely. Follow safety procedures when starting, shutting down, un-jamming or tying the tail on a bagger. Adheres to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, HACCP and SQF process requirements and sanitation guidelines rectify and or report any and all non-compliance to Management along with maintaining a high level of personal hygiene. Assists other team members as required. Attend meetings as required. Maintain housekeeping standards by keeping work area clean at all times. Performs other duties as assigned by Lead Packer or Shift Supervisor to include being trained to operate the off-line printers. Performs other duties as assigned by WinCup leadership as needed. POSITION/TITLE: Packer WORK LOCATION: Mount Sterling, OH POSITION REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor WORK TYPE: ON SITE JOB SUMMARY: Visually inspects all products, properly separate and package finished products being manufactured. Notifies appropriate team individual when quality, safety or production problems arise that cannot be resolved by individual. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Ensures that adequate vital supplies, i.e., tape, bagging, stamp, labels, cartons (knockdowns), etc., are available to perform duties. Constructs cardboard cartons to contain finished products manufactured, ensuring that proper carton is being utilized to hold products from bins. Visually inspects product for proper print and seal through plastic bag or in bulk form prior to bagging. Periodically open random logs of product to perform close visual inspection. Performs quality control by opening random bags of product to perform a close visual inspection along with notifying Production Leader or Production Equipment Operator immediately of any quality defects. Packs product into cartons while ensuring that the correct number of bags of product is packed based on order specifications or manually counts the amount product going into the bag if handbagging. Properly seal the carton and apply proper stamping and label(s) while making certain that stamp is legible and the correct code date is on each carton. Move the packed cartons of finished product to the designed stacking area and then place the stacks of cartons together in the correct configuration in preparation for pick-up by the forklift operator. Sets aside defective product for re-work or scrapping while making certain that no defective product is shipped to the customer. Work at an efficient and safe pace to keep packing bins or stacking tubes clear. Assures a smooth flow of product through the packing process by responding to any product jams (bells, buzzers or lights), clearing the product jam and restarting the equipment properly and safely. Follow safety procedures when starting, shutting down, un-jamming or tying the tail on a bagger. Adheres to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, HACCP and SQF process requirements and sanitation guidelines rectify and or report any and all non-compliance to Management along with maintaining a high level of personal hygiene. Assists other team members as required. Attend meetings as required. Maintain housekeeping standards by keeping work area clean at all times.
