Job Description
Assembling and repairing product of varying degrees of complexity Performing assembly and rework tasks per all build documentation, including Process Flow Sheets, Assembly Drawings, Work Instructions and Procedures.Completing and signing off tasks using the production control software Following direction from engineering personnel, both written and verbal Performing visual inspection of assembly work using IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 guidelines to meet a minimum of Class 2 specifications.Managing work on multiple projects, with different team members, priorities, and delivery schedules.Following good ESD practices, and procedures.Practicing good house-keeping, safety, security, and adherence to department policies, and procedures.Basic computer skills.The ability to demonstrate soldering experience on densely populated surface mount, through-hole, and wire technology.The ability to demonstrate rework and modification experience on densely populated PCBS.Must demonstrate knowledge of Basic Component Identification, including polarity markings, pin designators, and reference designators.Must be organized and detail oriented, with the ability to work independently, under minimal supervision.The ability to effectively interface with designers, engineers and quality personnel, and management.The ability to train others in similar tasks required.The ability to use numerous types of equipment and assembly tools, including microscopes, soldering irons, reflow equipment, tweezers, calipers, picks, scalpels, hot plates, epoxies, etc.Must be able to sit at a microscope for extended periods.Must be able to lift a maximum 30 lbs. as required.Must be able to stand for a minimum of 2hrs. as required.Excellent attendance required.Complete IPC certification within 3 months of hire, or have current certification.Must be able to work overtime as required.Knowledge of Basic electronics a plus.Knowledge of IPC-/WHMA-A-620 and IPC-7711/7721 a plus.

Basic Requirements
High School Diploma/GED required for this position.5+ years of relevant work experience. Including rework, repair and modification.U.S. Citizenship required. With the ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contractors.

Job Responsibilities:

* Under close supervision, performs a variety of routine/simplistic electronic assembly tasks following Rockwell Collins workmanship standards.

* Following/reading blueprints, wiring schematics, written work instructions and verbal instructions assembles electronic subassemblies and top assemblies.

* Required to use hand tools and power tools to assemble and rework a variety of parts/assemblies and perform required assembly/rework operations to meet quality standards. Soldering may be required for some positions.

* Under close supervision, inspects own work on electronic assemblies to insure a quality product which conforms to workmanship standards and engineering requirements.

* Required to enter time in FIT timekeeping system, charging time to programs being worked and time/attendance.

* Regular and reliable attendance is required as well as flexibility to support production schedule requiring working overtime hours and alternate shift hours.

* Work in a safe manner, per Rockwell Collins Environmental Health and Safety policies.

* May be required to perform additional duties/responsibilities.

- May be required to lift/move heavy parts and/or equipment weighing up to 55 pounds. Must be able to comply with personal equipment standards as they apply to manufacturing.

- May be required to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time.

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent required. If no HS Diploma/Equivalent, candidate must have 5 years of relevant experience

* Ability to work weekend shift hours as noted

Preferred

* Rockwell Collins experience is helpful, not required

* Mechanical assembly experience is helpful, not required

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

**Duties and Responsibilities:**

+ Perform a variety of duties to repair or correct defective products in preparation for shipment.

+ Identify and Repair any defects to prepare units for shipment

+ Assemble and disassemble units to install missing and/or defective component or complete missing or partially completed processes

+ Read repair manual for rework instruction

+ Use computer to register default on units and fixed units ready for shipment

+ Assure that units meet all quality standards and specifications before shipment

+ Maintain a clean work environment

+ Fill units with appropriate fluids

+ Use electric, air, torque and manual tools

+ Add or remove and replace decals

+ Add essential components that were not installed by assemblers

+ Assist others and fill in for absentees when needed

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

+ Basic knowledge of power, air, torque, and manual tools

+ Ability to understand blueprints and assembly drawings

+ Ability to work independently

+ Mechanical and electrical knowledge of various units

+ Basic knowledge of computers

+ Communication skills

+ Must be able to work overtime with little or no notice

+ Must be able to work in various conditions including outside and or in a warehouse without A/C or heat

WORKING CONDITIONS:

+ Working with hazardous materials and chemicals.

+ Working in confined spaces.

+ Will be required to wear the proper safety equipment and follow all safety guidelines.

+ There are 2 teams on 1st shift with a 12-hour rotating on/off schedule.
