As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for support across our robotic systems-from fabrication to field deployment to maintenance and troubleshooting. You will manage the operational readiness of our autonomous vehicle fleet, oversee laboratory organization and safety, and coordinate complex field testing at the 2,000-acre RELLIS Campus. This position requires a unique blend of technical aptitude and expertise in mechanical-electrical-computer systems, project coordination, and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities:
Fleet & Systems Management (40%)
- Perform hands-on preventative maintenance and complex repairs on a fleet of autonomous ground and air vehicles, addressing both mechanical and electrical hardware issues (e.g., soldering, component replacement, motor installation).
- Manage the lifecycle of specialized equipment, including the care, maintenance, and safe handling of LiPo batteries and other external power systems.
- Oversee inventory control for high-value assets, assisting in regular audits and maintaining organization of all project hardware using the 5S method.

Overview
