POSITION OVERVIEW
LTTS is hiring Field Service Engineers for its customer as mentioned above, who will work onsite at various location predominantly in San Francisco, CA and San Jose, CA regions. Service Engineer should be based out of San Francisco, CA area.
He is expected to work at various locations to provide on-site support for our vehicle build production of customer's Zero Emission Hydrogen Fuel Cell Trucks. The Field Service Engineer is the technical vehicle systems, software, and controls engineering expert for customer at their services partner's facilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support “hands-on” repairs of customer vehicles at end customers' locations and service points. Interact with end customers and internal Service Technicians to keep the vehicles maintained and serviced properly.
Lead analysis and advanced problem-solving to troubleshoot vehicle function and performance issues, including but not limited to electrical, software, battery, and systems.
Document service issues and interact with Customers to ensure end Customer satisfaction and high vehicle up-time.
Support the internal Sales team on resolution of end Customers' issues and assist in communication.
Support vehicle commissioning during electrical power-up, calibration programming, and initial fuel cell start-up.
Lead root cause analysis of vehicle build production in relation to quality control and vehicle assembly (5 Whys)
Provide the direction necessary to perform rework/repair processes in compliance with engineering standards.
Provide failure analysis and design concerns back to Engineering.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in engineering - Mechanical or Electrical, or related technology preferred (5-6 years' experience)
Background in application engineering including experience with software, controller interfaces, and configuration management - preferably in validation or calibration.
Working knowledge of vehicle assembly best practices and constraints
Experience working with High Voltage electrical systems and safety protocols.
Must be self-motivated, with a desire to continuously improve, learn and develop creative solutions.

Primary Duties

Perform basic mechanical maintenance duties such as predictive and preventative maintenance, replacing basic parts (filters, gaskets, etc.), and repacking bearings. Conduct basic trouble shooting and analysis on indication and control equipment. Collect and analyze “trending” information to evaluate equipment performance and to forecast possible equipment failures.
Assist in and support major maintenance on plant equipment that is conducted by outside contractors. Forecast, inventory, and reorder spare parts to maintain plant reliability. Assist in physical inventories. Participate in the administrative maintenance of the plant operating manuals, technical references, prints and diagrams and preventative/predictive maintenance records. About the Role:
Responsibilities:
The core responsibility of AR/VR Technician in this role is to assemble, repair, and deliver devices to the lab for automated end-to-end testing. The qualified candidate can expect to work closely with the Infra Eng. team, as well as several XFN partners, to coordinate and execute lab activities.
Day To Day Responsibility:
Performs electrical and mechanical assembly work utilizing wiring diagrams and process instructions.
Performs hand soldering, wiring, and assembling small complex components.
Assembles mechanical fixtures and populates them with AR/VR devices and other electronics so they can be installed in the lab.
Uses standard hand tools and various epoxies to perform operations.
Performs work with microscopes for lengthy periods of time.
Interfaces with quality assurance and test personnel to ensure subassemblies are inspected and tested at specified checkpoints.
Performs rework and repairs as required.
Performs limited, intermittent physical exertion.
Works under acceptable conditions with some distraction due to occasional exposure to noise, dust, heat, or chemicals.
Must Have:
High school diploma
Minimum of five years of related electro-mechanical assembly experience
Ability to read operation sheets and moderately complex diagrams
Soldering skills
Knowledge of electronic components
Ability to use measuring instruments such as caliper and scale
Ability to use formulas

What will you do?
Provide world-class service to our customers by performing preventative and corrective maintenance for Epredia instrumentation.
Use expert troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues on a variety of electromechanical instruments.
Manage service call scheduling, parts inventory, and other administrative necessities.
Build trust-based relationships with our customers.
Interact with and provide feedback to internal stakeholders including technical support teams, Manufacturing, and Sales.
Prepare periodic reports to management including compilations of customer complaints, trend analyses, and suggestions for improvement.
Represent Epredia in a positive, professional manner in all dealings with customers, both external and internal.
Skills you need for the role:
2+ years of field service experience is preferred.
Associate degree or Bachelor's Degree in electrical or mechanical Engineering, or other scientific degree is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve problems with electronic and mechanical instrumentation in a scientific laboratory environment.
Ability to read, interpret, and analyze schematics, assembly drawings, and wiring diagrams.
Experience with Laboratory Information Systems/networking instrumentation preferred.
Up to 80% travel may be required to meet customer needs.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
