The repair technician workforce reached a whopping 70,163 in 2020! Among those workers, we discovered that 13.1% of them are women, while 82.6% are men. The most common race/ethnicity among repair technicians is White, which makes up 68.5% of all repair technicians. Comparatively, there are 16.6% of the Hispanic or Latino ethnicity and 9.3% of the Black or African American ethnicity. The majority of repair technicians are located in Memphis, TN and Louisville, KY. repair technicians are also more likely to work at private companies in comparison to public companies. Taking it a step further, repair technicians are more likely to find a job in the technology industry. And perhaps the best information we found was that Maryland, Massachusetts, Connecticut, California and Rhode Island are where repair technicians find the highest salaries.

From where do we know all information about repair technician demographics? We analyzed 23,568 repair technicians resumes to find out what the average demographics are for the job position. Just to be clear, by demographics we mean the study of population-based factors like age, race, and sex. On top of scouring through resumes, we also took note of job proposals from employers and Census Bureau data. And guess what? We found some pretty interesting information.
