Principal Duties/Responsibilities:
· Performs expert level break-fix & preventative maintenance. This includes but is not limited to: observing devises in operation to location root cause of problem; dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts; examining parts to detect imperfections; adjustment of functional parts of devices and control instruments; repair and/or replacement of defective parts; testing of device to observe performance; and performing tests for electrical circuitry and mechanical systems; reconditioning and repairing machine tools.
· Identifies and sources parts, supplies and repair items as necessary. Performs evaluations of alternatives to improve cost and / or reliability of equipment.
· Independently performs maintenance as per industry standards.
· Works with customer counterparts to optimize maintenance, reliability, and preventative maintenance procedures.
· May be required to setup and operate multiple machining operations including but not limited to: lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. May perform welding tasks.
· Conforms and complies with customer contractor codes of conduct, housekeeping standards, and safety processes
· Documents work performed in service reports, applicable management systems, and written explanation regarding observation and collected equipment performance data.
· Provides assistance to lower level technicians and leadership to project teams. Performs expert functions as a part of training and development.
· Troubleshoots and analyzes complex control systems to resolve in-depth software/ hardware and configuration problems.
· Utilizes advanced maintenance technologies to collect equipment performance data. Observes trends and makes recommendations.
· Completes and conducts on-the-job training and technical self-study programs for career development.
· Follows all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions and guidelines. Situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs), & Competencies:
Essential KSAs:
· High School Graduate or equivalent (GED).
· Associates degree with a Technical focus and 10 years of related experience in specific industry; or, 12 years of experience in specific industry.
· Possesses comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power and control systems. Can analyze the problem, synthesize alternative solutions, and perform repairs.
· Must be able to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate.

What this job involves:

What your day-to-day will look like:
Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and respond to repair work orders on facility mechanical, electrical, and other installed systems
Maintain, operate, and repair all HVAC systems, electrical distribution equipment, plumbing systems, and building interior/exterior components
Conduct assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting conditions that impact client occupancy and operations
Respond effectively to all facility emergencies and after-hours building activities as required
Prepare and submit management summary reports detailing work conditions and recommend corrective actions
Study and maintain proficiency with building automation systems, fire/life safety systems, and other building-related equipment
Comply with all safety procedures while maintaining clean and safe work areas, identifying and proposing solutions for safety hazards

Universal EPA 608 Certification
Minimum four (4) years of technical experience in building engineering with strong background in packaged HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment repair and maintenance
Valid state driver's license with ability to maintain throughout employment
Physical ability to lift up to 80 lbs. and climb ladders up to 30 ft.
Availability to perform on-call duties and overtime as required

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Performs diagnostics, service repairs, and preventative maintenance on industrial scales in manufacturing settings, floor scales, and truck scales at our customer sites. Travel to different customer locations. Company truck provided.

Completes service report explaining the reason for the call, equipment info, and what work was performed. Tech will also complete any other required paperwork based on state regulations.

Ability to perform repairs and maintenance on equipment following technical manuals and diagnostic procedures.
Must attain State Scale Technician License within first 6 months. Paid training to attain this status.

+ Complies with The Association of American Rail Roads regulations, quality assurance standards, and safety rules relevant to Greenbrier Rail Services Environmental Health and Safety policies.
+ Performs minor repairs to tools and equipment to maintain them in good working order.
+ Performs set up and operation of metal working tools such as grinder, cutting torches, etc.
+ Interacts with Supervisor and crew members in a team environment, and assists in the training and coaching of new employees when required.

**Summary**
The Repair Technician (level A) is responsible for all aspects of railcar repair and maintenance using blueprints and work orders to make railcar repairs in compliance with Federal Rail Road Administration & The Association of American Rail Roads regulations, maintaining accurate repair records, and ensuring all company guidelines and safety rules are followed when performing duties.

+ Performs assigned tasks under the direction of Supervisor and crew leader and notifies Supervisor or crew leader of materials/equipment needed to complete job tasks.
+ Repairs and maintains railcars and railcar components such as bolsters, side framers, hitch heads, and box car doors, according to blueprints and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and welding equipment.
+ Coordinates and completes repairs within assigned hours ensuring attention to detail in all aspects of work performed.
+ Complies with The Association of American Rail Roads regulations, quality assurance standards, and safety rules relevant to Greenbrier Rail Services Environmental Health and Safety policies..
+ Performs minor repairs to tools and equipment to maintain them in good working order.
+ Performs set up and operation of metal working tools such as welder, grinder, cutting torches, etc.
+ Interacts with Supervisor and crew members in a team environment, and assists in the training and coaching of new employees when required.
+ Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned including special processes, brake testing, NDT, switching or others as deemed necessary.

**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Ability to legibly record repairs made to railcars on forms provided.
+ Ability to pass 2g, 3g & 4g weld test according to D15-1 welding code and perform Mig flux core welding and Arc/Stick welding after receiving in-house training.
+ Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while ensuring attention to detail.
+ Ability to use machines and tools required to weld, cut, and gouge.
+ Ability to use measuring equipment such as a caliper, micrometer, and tape measure.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ One to three years' work experience.
+ High School education or equivalent.
+ Ability to perform welding processes such as burning, air arc, and grinding.

Installing Center pivots

Ideal candidates will be:
Mechanically inclined, have knowledge of electrical circuits and testing.
Able to use power tools such as drills, grinders, impact wrenches, and welders.
