Please note that this position does require extensive travel throughout the region assigned. **Responsibilities** + Supporting acceptance testing / routine maintenance of Transmission and Distribution substation power equipment, relaying (electro-mechanical, solid state and microprocessor), pilot channel equipment (power line carrier, (testing of carrier set, tuning unit, wave trap), pilot wire, transfer trip, fiber optic, CT's, CCVT's, line tuners, line traps, etc.), controls and communications equipment testing, verifying all metering (local and SCADA); calibrating all relays; trip testing (local and SCADA), digital fault recorders (DFRs) and sequence of event recorders (SERs) and end-to-end line relay systems + Applying test procedures forvarious typesof relay test equipment + Substation awareness and Safety consciousness + Aptitude to quickly learn and apply test procedures forvarious typesofsubstationequipment + Good PC skills and the ability to support testing activities as required by the projectlead **Qualifications** + Knowledge of 3 phase power systems; power system protection & control schemes; test equipment; test equipment software + Field experience in commissioning, panel and equipment checkout, relay calibration, testing and repairing substation relaying and control schemes preferred. + Knowledge of test equipment and tool/wiring usage + Interpretation of wiring and elementary diagrams; basic test skills to perform duties listed above, basic PCskills + Learn and apply client's switching procedures and safety measures under directsupervision + Reference and complete assignments as described in applicablespecifications + Perform regular field work both indoors andoutdoors + Quickly learn and apply test procedure forvarious typesofsubstationequipment + Candidates must be able to perform physical activity such as pushing, pulling,liftingand bending in all types of weatherextremes + Candidates must be able to lift at least 30 lbs. withoutassistance + Valid driver's license andgood drivingrecord + Associate of Science in Electrical Technology (AET) or equivalent specialized training in system protection for a Relay Technician title. + Bachelor of Electrical Engineering Technology (BET) or bachelor's in science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)requiredfor a Relay Field Engineer title \#LI-AM2 **Benefits & Compensation** Qualus benefits offered include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short and Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays, for those who qualify.
