Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Performs diagnostics, service repairs, and preventative maintenance on industrial scales in manufacturing settings, floor scales, and truck scales at our customer sites. Travel to different customer locations. Company truck provided. Works as part of a cohesive team within the shop to meet customer needs. This includes assisting, mentoring, or sharing knowledge with other technicians in the shop as appropriate. Performs emergency repair to malfunctioning equipment at customer site. Involved in equipment installations, as needed. Completes annual inspection programs for customers. One-on-one customer interaction- Maintains communication with the customer and answers questions relative to the work being performed. Makes recommendations for additional work that needs to be completed. Works with inside sales to order replacement parts, as needed. Maintains knowledge of existing products and pursues additional technical and product knowledge by actively participating in the training programs. This includes manufacturer training and on-the-job training. Completes service report explaining the reason for the call, equipment info, and what work was performed. Tech will also complete any other required paperwork based on state regulations. Requirements for the position: High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Associate degree in a related field preferred. 2 years of Mechanical experience required. Electrical experience preferred. Ability to perform repairs and maintenance on equipment following technical manuals and diagnostic procedures. Must attain State Scale Technician License within first 6 months. Paid training to attain this status. Valid Driver's License required, and must be eligible to drive per respective state law based on office location. Strong communication skills. Customer service orientation. Basic computer knowledge and the ability to operate diagnostic software. This position requires 10-20% overnight travel as needed.
