What is a replenishment manager and how to become one

Replenishment managers lead replenishment teams in various retail stores and distribution centers. Their main role is to ensure that the team's goals are regularly met, as well as to develop replenishment strategies to maximize the efficiency of their team. Other duties include managing inventory, addressing staff concerns, analyzing inventory performance, and handling forecast changes.

A replenishment manager may also be responsible for administrative tasks, such as scheduling, creating inventory reports, and developing budget plans for the team. Another major task of this role is reporting to higher-ups and communicating with other managers within the business.

Most employers require at least a bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or another relevant major for this role. However, high school graduates may still be able to qualify if they have enough experience. In general, employers prefer candidates with at least four to six years of direct experience in replenishment, ideally in a supervisory role.

In terms of skills, a replenishment manager must be a great leader, communicator, and organizer since they are the head of a team. More than that, they must also be good at analysis, decision-making, as well as problem-solving.
