Reporting analyst job description

Responsible for gathering data and preparing documents required for internal and external financial reporting, including those required by regulatory agencies. Uses formal processes for data gathering and analysis of financial data relative to preparation of required filings. Prepares and/or reviews relevant financial statements, earnings releases and other related disclosures. Ensures financial reports and statements are prepared in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and coordinates with internal and external auditors. Ensures preparation and distribution of internal financial reports as required.
Responsibilities:
Gains familiarity with Reporting concepts, practices and methodologies.With guidance, learns to perform Reporting duties, including:Assisting with preparation of reports and modeling tools, such as future store cash flow, forecast modeling, budget review, etc.Assisting with periodic accounting and financial reporting review schedules and related business partner support,Updating the team SharePoint site,Preparing ad-hoc Reporting and research to support Financial Planning & Analysis and Reporting teams,Gathering and inputting data in a complete and accurate manner.
Develops good working relationships with Regional Accounting, operational, and other supported teams.Performs special tasks and projects related to functional responsibilities or other areas.Performs filings and other duties as assigned.

Skills:
Basic understanding of multiple Reporting and Accounting & Financial systems.Basic financial reporting skills.Basic math and statistical skills for analyzing data.Basic knowledge of general accounting, audit services. Education & Experience:
BA/BS degree and 0-2 years' relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Job Description

Responsible for managing and preparing regulatory reporting. Leads design, and ensures the operating effectiveness of controls.

Responsibilities

• Supports and coordinates regulatory reporting for the company.

• Supports new business initiatives and ensures proper regulatory treatment, impact, and data availability. Represents regulatory reporting in working groups and peer calls.

• Monitors and researches regulatory requirements and updates. Ensures compliance with reporting requirements. Understands how changes may impact reporting.

• Prepares and manages regulatory reporting. Researches new requirements and determines reporting impacts. Communicates changes and implementation plans to management. Assists with questions from regulators by drafting responses. Leads aspects of regulatory exams.

• Assists with the review and maintenance of policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here s what we need from you:

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field

• 2+ years of experience in Financial Reporting, Accounting, Regulatory Reporting, Financial Analyst, or related field

• In lieu of a degree, 8+ years of experience in Financial Reporting, Accounting, Regulatory Reporting, or related field

Job Description:

This is an excellent opportunity to be a part of a premier and growing multifamily investment sales and debt platform and enhance the analysis function in support of production growth. The Analyst will serve as a liaison for data collection, reconciliation, consolidation, and reporting and be responsible for supporting the production team with data-driven analysis.

Essential Job Duties

Be a member of a team responsible for production reporting; Manage client/originator relationship in our proprietary system on a recurring basis; Analyze and present the trends of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and identify the cause(s) of any unexpected variances; Work closely with Debt & Structured Finance and Investment Sales Management in both ongoing reporting, as well as in the development of analytical tools to enhance production volume and profitability; Further develop business performance tools and dashboard reports; Analyze, interpret and present complex multifamily real estate transactions in compliance with respective agency guidelines (Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac); Work closely with IT to enhance and create Customer Relationship Management systems and tools; Develop and maintain strong relationships with origination, underwriting, accounting, business management, servicing and asset management; Continually look for process optimization; May perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications


2-4 years of commercial real estate or financial analysis experience and/or education Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Economics or other related fields Highly developed analytical, research and written and oral presentation skills Ability to problem-solve and exercise independent judgment while displaying a high degree of initiative and accuracy Strong attention to detail Strong relationship building and communication skills, experience and desire to work cross-functionally; Strong business and analytical skills; Ability to multi-task, stay organized and prioritize deadlines in a continually evolving environment; Ability to work productively under limited supervision; Very strong experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel (pivots, look-ups, logic functions, VBA Macro knowledge, etc.) Strong work ethic; Ability to work under sometimes time-sensitive conditions



Preferred Skills


Experience in commercial real estate Exposure to Closer underwriting/pipeline management systems, Customer Relationship Management Systems, proprietary transaction tracking system, and Midland/Enterprise Servicing systems.
