Essential Functions
1. Working time is spent as follows:

11. Practice proper security and processing controls for negotiable items.
12. Responsible for timely processing of mail, email action requests and inter-office courier bags.
13. Ensure that all mailed information is complete and in accordance with established policies and procedures while proper records are accurately maintained.
14. Actively listen to member requests or concerns and provide solutions.
15. Must handle a minimum of 75 calls per day, with an average "wrap-up" time of 45 seconds or less.
16. Adhere to the Call Evaluation form at a 90% or better score.
17. Must be able to adhere to a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
18. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
Starting pay is $19.56 - $26.50 an hour depending on experience.

Performs 5% audit of scanned documents and reports mis-scans or missing images to the department director prior to destruction of the hard copy of scanned charts.

Obtains worker's compensation accident information when applicable. Calls patient employer to verify employment. Obtains all insurance information from employer timely. Contacts insurance company to gather claim information. Enter all information into EHR.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Manager, Patient Access, the Scheduler performs their duties in a professional and organized manner requiring minimal supervision. The Scheduler must maintain strict confidentiality in all matters pertaining to patients of Enloe Medical Center.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Minimum:
One year experience utilizing clerical, computer, and receptionist skills or 6 months hospital experience.
Six months of experience in patient scheduling.
Desired:
Knowledge of medical terminology
One-year diagnostic scheduling experience, related to Imaging exams up to and including interventional radiology procedures.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
Must have excellent telephone communication skills and interpersonal skills to maintain a high degree of rapport with patients, co-workers, physicians, and the public. Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment. Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Capable of using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook (Microsoft Office Suite) for a variety of support functions. Knowledge of filing systems. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential. Must show sensitivity for the patient and family and maintain strict confidentiality. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
